    Installation

WINDOWS: The GENESIS Pro comes with an installer to install the Genesis Pro system files in

C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisPro. The dll files will be installed by default in: C:\Program

    Files (x86)\GenesisProDLL.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

    Windows 7, 8, 10

Intel Core 2.5Ghz or equivalent AMD CPU, 4 GB RAM

    1 GB free disk space

Runs in 32-bit VST & 64-bit VST (bridged)

    Supported system: Windows 32-bit & 64-bit (bridged) – VST

If you already have the Genesis Pro installed or you would like to update:

    • Uninstall all the files by using the uninstaller in C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisPro • Double check if all the files are successfully removed, including the dlls. Search your

drive for any GenesisPro files just to be sure. For example: GenesisPro.dll • It is very important that your DAW does not use an old dll file

    Download and install:

    • Download and install Genesis Pro 1.0.2. (double check you got this version installed, can be seen on topside of the installer window when installing)

    • Default system files path: C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisPro (this cannot be changed - moving these files will result in errors)

    • Default .dll path: C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisProDLL (this can be changed but we recommend having Genesis dll file its own folder)

    After installation check:

    • Are all the system files correctly installed in: C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisPro? • Are the dlls correctly installed in: C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisProDLL?

    Adding to your DAW:

    • Add C:\Program Files (x86)\GenesisProDLL to your plugin manager of your DAW to scan

    • Initiate scan and reselect Genesis Pro • Tip for FL users: Please make sure "verify plugin" is checked • Tip for Reaper users: Please make sure you “clear cache/re-scan”

Projects or sounds created with the old version will give (parameter) errors when you load it

in for the first time with the new update. Save the project or sound 1x time and reload, the

    errors should disappear.

    Oscillators

    Oscillators

This is the oscillator section. The core engine of the synthesizer, this is where the sound creation starts! The Genesis Pro has 3 distinctive main oscillators with complex controls. All oscillators can be used either independently in solo mode or simultaneously in Multi-Mode. In Multi-Mode you can combine multiple oscillators assigned to different ADSR & sequencer controls, it’s also possible to use features like split mode. Oscillator selection (3): - Mod Oscillator: Modulation oscillator with 2 waveforms. Each waveform has a selection

of different waveforms (Saw, Sine, Triangle, Pulse, Noise 1, Noise 2). - Rom Oscillator: Sample based oscillator with 2 waveforms and up to 8 voices used

simultaneously. Waveform A has a selection of 175 factory Roms. Each waveform can be modulated and combined with to create unique sounds.

    - Multiwave Oscillator: 4 waveforms that contain each 8 voices (up to 32 voices simultaneously). Each voice is perfectly phased and detuned to create a high quality superwave.

    GENERAL

In this display you will find some general settings such as:

    - Tuning: Determines the main frequency (any value can be used) - Max Poly: Determines the amount of polyphonic voices that it can play - Poly mode (Voice Stealing): Voice-stealing happens when all the synth’s voices are in use,

but the synth is asked to play an additional note. o Soft: Provides a nice analog feel for synthesizers. Playing the same key twice re-uses

the same voice, blending the notes smoothly together. o Hard: Each note uses a new voice cleanly separating from the previous note (useful in

Samplers) o Overlap: Fades out the old note while using a Reserve voice*. This technique is used to

minimize the latency of fading the old note out and playing the new note. (Particularly useful when playing stringed or pad instruments). Please note that this function can have an impact on the plugin’s CPU consumption.

    - Pitch Bend: Adjusts the main pitch settings in semi-notes (1 to 12, 24 & 32) - Envelope Response: An option to pick either a Linear or an Exponential envelope

response. - Velocity Amp: Determines the velocity amount. - Velocity Filter: Determines the amount of velocity applied on the filter (when Filter is

    X-Gen

A head start The Genesis Pro comes with its own Tone Generator, named:”X-Gen”. The X-Gen is capable of creating one of the following type of tones: - Soft Tone - Hard Tone - Plucked Tone As their names already indicate, these 3 options create the characteristics of a Soft, Hard or a plucked tone. It’s a very easy to use tool that can help you start engineering one of the 3 types of sound. Its purpose is to give you a head start in your sound designing. The X-Gen adjusts the oscillator settings based on an algorithm, designed to generate these types of tones. It adjusts the Oscillator settings accordingly. With Plucked tone it also adjusts the filter settings. A similar tool can be used on page 2 of the Multi Display of the Tone Generator Menu. On the Template Menu you can one-click generate effects (14 presets), modulation (5 presets) and/or layer (20 presets) your initial sound. Combined with the X-Gen (page 1) it can significantly reduce the time to engineer your sound.

    Dynamic Link

Go Beyond! With Dynamic Link its possible to modulate every knob in the Genesis Pro with any audio signals coming into your DAWs mixer. This gives the user infinite possibilities to create modulation sources. With Midi Trigger Mode it is possible to use any type of audio input to trigger or sequence your note keys. This means it’s even possible to use your own voice for triggering/sequencing your note keys.

How does it work? (we used FL studio as an example here)

Step 1: Add the Genesis Pro to your channel rack and select a channel (we took channel 1 as an example).

Step 2: Add Dynamic Link to your DAWs mixer panel in a different channel than the one you have put your Genesis Pro copy in. If you want to use your voice as your input device: Select your MIC input to be on the same channel as your Dynamic Link.

Note: The U Logo will blink red when the Genesis Pro is correctly linked

  • 49

Step 3: Adjust the MIDI input and output channels in your VST Wrapper settings accordingly.

When done correctly, you should see signal coming in and going out on your Dynamic Link panel:

Settings: - Midi Trigger Mode: When this mode is activated, your key notes will only be triggered or

sequenced when a signal is received from your audio input. - Link Channel: You can assign multiple instances of Dynamic Link by using the channel

selector to distinguish incoming signals. - Response: Determines the trigger speed

Audio Thru: Gives you the option to send the audio, coming from your input device (ie. Microphone) through to the channel.
