    HOW TO TACKLE PHYSICS

    Paper 1(50 objective questions)

Suggestion practice to answer the SPM collection paper as much as you can.

(SPM Collection book: Koleksi Kertas Peperiksaan Sebenar SPM Cerdik Publications.)

Try to remember the answers as possible as you can.

For calculation, bring out all the information and figure out what the questionreally need to find.

Discuss with friend or check with your Physics teacher for unsure.

    Paper 2 (3 section : A,B and C)

    Section A (8 objective questions)

Read the questions and find out the key word for concept.

Answer the question with short sentence and must use the key word.

    For key word example:-

o The question use concept impulsive force.

o So the word time contact and impulsive force must have in the sentence for

    explanation.

o When the time contact is longer, the impulsive force will become smaller then

    the impact is smaller.

    For calculation:-

o Bring out all the information and figure out what the question really need to

    find.

    o Use the right formula.

    o Write the replacement step

o Write the correct answer with the correct units.

Section B (2 questions but choose ONE to answer) Questions type: definition, explanations, compare and design.

    Definition :-

    o Give the right definition.

o Suggestion, memorized all the terms in Physics for form 4 and from 5.

o This is the key word for the rest questions.

o All the answer given must refer and use the keyword regarding to the concept.

    Explanations:-

    o Use a short sentence.

o Not give the answer out of the concept.

    Compare:-

o This question must read carefully.

o If the questions mention compare the so the answer must give similarity and

    differential. Suggestion:-

    Items Figure1/Diagram 1/others1 Figure2/Diagram 2/others2Similarity

    Differential

o If the questions mention similarity the so the answer must give similarities

    only. Suggestion:-

    Items Figure1/Diagram 1/others1 Figure2/Diagram 2/others2

    Similarity

o If the questions mention differential the so the answer must give differential

    only. Suggestion:-

    Items Figure1/Diagram 1/others1 Figure2/Diagram 2/others2

    Differential

o Lastly relate between them and write the sentence to relate using the concepts

    suppose to be.

o If need in the question name of the concept, please state it.

    Design:-

    o Use the characteristic given.

o Obviously the marks given 8 marks.

o 4 marks for characteristic and another 4 marks for reason.

    o Suggestion:-

Section C (definition, explanations, selected items, extra calculation)

Definition and explanation answer same as the section B and for calculation must

have steps needed same as in the paper 2.

    For selected items:-

Must give the characteristics must have for the object need regarding to the base

characteristics given. Choose the suitable object regarding to the characteristics setup.

Give the reason using the fact given in the table.

    In paper 3, you are given with1h 30 minutes. There are 2 section A & B.

    In Section A:

    1. consists of two structured questions and must answer both of the questions.

    2. The total marks for this section is 28 marks. You are advised to spend 60 minutes on this

    section.

    3. The questions in this section are based on experiments that you should have done in the lab.

    4. The questions in this section normally require you to collect and tabulate the data in a table

and to plot a graph.5. You are normally required to state the manipulated variable, the responding variable and the

fixed variable based on the aim and the procedure of the experiment. Make sure you know the

meaning of each of the variables stated above.

    6. The questions from this section also involve the interpretation of graphs. As such you will

need to carefully determine the quantity represented by the gradient of the graph provided. Youwill also need to know how to determine the gradient of the graph.U must know the physical qty

    represented by the gradient.

    7. The questions from this section may also involve the calculation of certain quantities. Makesure that you write down all the steps involved in the spaces provided in the question paper.

    8. Dont forget to state units & please improve your maths skills on straight line & curved graph.

    9. U must also know how to relate the graph, either a directly or inversely proportional type.

    In Section B:

    1. Section B consists of two questions and you must answer one question only.

    2. The total marks for this section is 12 marks. You are advised to spend 30 minutes on this

    section

    3. You are normally given with a diagram of a situation in our daily lives together with a briefwrite-up on the situation shown.

    4. You will have to study the situation carefully as you are normally asked to state one suitableinference/hypothesis that can made from the situation. Then you'll be asked to design a suitable

    experiment

    5. Make sure you provide a fully labeled diagram of the apparatus used. Write out your

experiment in passive form and use short sentences.

    6. When making a conclusion, make sure that your conclusion is in line with your hypothesis.
