THE TOUCHING AFRICA INITIATIVE: Unfolding of the vision!Stephan Pretorius, August 2012

03 TAG September 2012

It was exciting to see the unfolding of the Touching Africa

Initiative on a practical level during the past months. Our

network Code of Conduct is updated and it will be discussed

and implemented with each network member on an individual

basis.

This Code of Conduct and internal network agreement define

clearly our point of departure within the Touching Africa Initiative

and supportive network:

• Although we acknowledge our weaknesses and that we all

have different understanding and focus areas - we agree

as individual business and social enterprises that our

intention and desire is to “seek first the Kingdom of God

and His righteousness” in all we do. Through this

commitment we make ourselves available for the growth of

God's Authority on Earth.

• We acknowledge and honor the bigger Body of Christ on

earth as a reality, and see our network as playing a part in

the expression of the Corporate Body of Christ in society.

We therefore desire to build the network reality on the

related spiritual principles.

• We agree to apply these truths with focus on Africa, its

community, natural resources and environment and want

to touch and bring positive change within the

understanding of the critical global path and timeframe we

live in.

In order to develop the TAI from this point of departure it is

important to be guided and directed by the Lord and although on

a personal and small scale and within the restriction of my own

reference framework I want to reflect on a few points from this

walk in such a way that it may speak to your heart.

One of the key elements in the submission to God's authority

and the participation in His plan is to address the issue of

“inferiority” both on individual and corporate level. We are all

affected by a “loss in value” through sin, and although

restored in Christ - our mindset still functions on the “operating

system of inferiority”! We are therefore in a constant battle with

the effect of the loss of God's Spirit in us in the fall of mankind in

Adam. Although we believe that Jesus Christ restored our Spirit,

we are fighting a battle in our mind and soul - still under the

dispensation of the reality of the “lost Spirit” within us. This

brought two major enemies in our midst especially in the

corporate environment: FEAR and GREED.

Addressing “inferiority”

• FEAR is born from the uncertainty within us as a result of

inferiority - and is based on what we observed in this life.

This must be replaced by LOVE.

• GREED is born from a wrong value perception, and based

on the fear we have for the future. This must be replaced by

FAITH.

We have therefore to understand “God's Contract” with us: If you

recon (see) yourself on the cross with Jesus He sees (recons)

you as His SON.

Based on this truth we have to realised that our plans for

tomorrow must become a bigger reality than the evidence of the

past.

The best way to lead our people to this freedom is to lead

through fatherhood! It is therefore our dream to display the heart

of a father - to walk in the spirit of Elija - to reconcile the fathers

and sons - to teach and lead people to the Kingdom! The

personal challenge is to die for your own agenda and to

stand up in the higher calling in Christ! The Lord

continuously showed me that we have to leave our own

agenda's behind in seeking the Kingdom! This becomes a very

dangerous aspect and brings the feeling of what about my

heritage, care and future!! Such a simple thing as if we can

overprovide God!! But the Lord kept on challenging me that our

own agenda's is the biggest wall of sin that separates us from

the manifestation of God's Kingdom in us!!

2 Co 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a

new creation. Old things have disappeared, and look! All

things have become new!

Rom 5:17 For if, through one man, death ruled because of

that man's offense, how much more will those who receive

such overflowing grace and the gift of righteousness rule in

life because of one man, Jesus the Messiah!

Rom 5:18 Consequently, just as one offense resulted in

condemnation for everyone, so one act of righteousness

results in justification and life for everyone.

Gal 2:20 I(my agenda) have been put to death on the cross

with Christ; still I am living; no longer I, but Christ is living in

me; and that life which I now am living in the flesh I am living

by faith, the faith of the Son of God, who in love for me, gave

himself up for me.

Graham Power and a team from the Unashamedly Ethical leadership visited

Potchefstroom during the weekend of 14/15 September 2012. It was a privilege for us

in Potchefstroom that this visit was combined with the UE strategic meeting and that

we could meet some of the leadership during this event.

Graham Power addressed a number of meetings during the weekend and the witness from his journey inspired

all of us to take up our responsibility as Sons of God in the market place. This included to really take a critical

look at all our business and financial practices and led to the signing of businesses and individuals to the UE

cause. Tiaan Liebenberg was positioned locally to start a local UE community in Potchefstroom.

From the Touching Africa Initiative we see our network as a community within the UE network. This is reflected on

our new network Code of Conduct that include to UE commitment as point of departure!

MEET Samuel Mgomezulu

My name is Samuel Mgomezulu, a proud Potchefstroomer and

married father of four boys. I am a born again child of God and I

am a preacher, motivational speaker and counselor.

Growing up for me was not life in a park at some point I had to

work to further my studies because my mother was a domestic

worker and I had a present absent father. I know many would

ask what do I mean by present absent father, by that I mean he

was there in person but numb to the realities of his family. After

my schooling years I became involved in community projects as

an escape from the fact that my mother was and still is struggling

with alcoholism.

While involved in community projects I managed to further my

studies through correspondence and acquired project

management qualifications and later marketing management. I

then got employed in the mines and later worked for a brokerage

and became a group manager. In the early 2000s I studied

biblical studies and obtained my certificate. I started focusing on

preaching and helping ministries in the country to form proper

management structures.

Currently I am employed as

a journalist for North West

Independent and am in

process of buying shares

because my partner to be

wants to retire five years

from now.

Someone once said it does not matter how many times you fall

what's important is how many times you rise up and walk again.

And I live by the motto that says, the only impossibility in life is to

breath when you are dead and that also is determined by who is

your God!

And to everyone out there I would like to say never give up on your dreams and always strife for excellence in everything you do.

ONTMOET VIRMartin Clark

In my

proses gehelp was.

My passie vir mense is my dryfveer in die

Touching Africa Initiative maak my geweldig opgewonde.

Mirrorword 2 Oktober 2012

He revealed and redeemed the image and likeness

of God in human form.

The veil is removed in Christ, so that we all may now gaze

into the mirror likeness, and remember who we are!

The mandate of Jesus was not to start the Christian religion. He

came to reveal and redeem every man's true origin, identity and

innocence.

Col.1:15, Col.2:9,10. God's work of

redeeming mankind was not a desperate effort to engage man

in a lifelong struggle to gradually improve or upgrade his

behavior; He rescued His image and identity in man. The “life

more abundantly? that Jesus restored man to, can only be

measured by the original blueprint of God's image and likeness.

John 10:10, Gen.1:26, Col.1:15,2:9,10.

The devil only has one strategy: “the god of this world has

blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing

the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of

God.

2 Cor 3:18.

Deut.32:18, James 1:23,24. Ps.23 “By the waters of reflection

my soul remembers who I am!?

The essence of faith according to Paul in Romans 1:16+17, is

the fact that God's righteousness is revealed in such a way that

man can see himself represented and included in the gift of

God's grace. Rom 1:14 I am so convinced of everyone's

inclusion; I am indebted both to the Greeks as well as those

many foreigners whose languages we do not even understand. I

owe this message to everyone, it is not a matter of how literate

and educated people are; the illiterate are equally included in

the benefit of the good news.

Rom 1:16 This is why I am not at all modest or embarrassed

about the good news of Christ, I make no apologies. The

powerful rescuing act of God becomes evident in everyone who

believes. This salvation which was first declared to the Jews is

now extended to the Greeks on equal terms.

1 John 2:8. His faith ignites ours. (From faith to faith) He is

convinced about mankind and now persuades us to believe

what He knows to be true about us. The prophets wrote in

advance about this life of righteousness which would be based

on faith and not on personal performance. (Hab.2:4, 3:17-19).

In it (this gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed, from faith

to faith. He is the Author and finisher of faith. Heb.12:1. The

gospel is the revelation of the righteousness of God; it declares

how God got it right to put mankind right with Him.

• The word righteousness comes from the Anglo Saxon word,

rightwiseness, .

• In Greek the root word for righteousness, is the word dike,

which means

• The Hebrew word for righteousness is the word tzadok,

which refers to the .

If God is the standard measure, then that which reflects His

likeness and image alone will balance the scale. Habakkuk

2:4?the just shall live by faith.? The Hebrew word for faith means

a total dependence like a child upon the breast of his mother.

Rom.10:17 It is clear then that faith's source is found in the

content of the message heard; the message is Christ. (We are

Gods audience; Jesus is Gods language! Greek, ek, a

preposition that denotes source or origin,

“To every one of us is given grace according to the measure of

the gift of Christ. Ep.4:7. until we all come into the unity of the

faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown

man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;? 4:13

A strike is defined as the partial or complete concerted refusal to

work or the retardation or obstruction of work by people who are,

or who have been employed by the same employer or by

different employers for the purpose of remedying any grievance

or resolving a dispute in respect of any matter of mutual interest.

So what action do you take in the event of an illegal strike/work

stoppage?

• Assess the mood of the strike:

• how many and who are involved

• what degree of support they have

• whether they are armed with sticks, etc

• their demands

• union involved

• which areas are affected

• what action (if any) has been taken so far

• Request the workers to appoint 3 (three) spokesmen to

discuss their grievances with management and to report

back to the workers.

• Assure the staff that the spokesperson(s) will not be

victimised as this may be a fear.

• As time problems may be difficult to indentify, if possible

put some questions to the spokesperson(s) in order to

clarify issues.

• Try to negotiate even with informal representatives.

• If the workers belong to a trade union, immediately talk to

the local union official and advise him of the illegal strike

and request their presence.

• Do not expect a strike to be resolved easily. Read the

mood of the strikers.

• Do not enter into discussions with the strikers en masse

and insist on spokesmen.

Strike diary

First ultimatum to return to work

Second ultimatum to return to work

A “strike diary” should be implemented immediately to record

events during the strike. Information and evidence will be useful

in the event of a court hearing. A video should be available for

recording incidents.

The written ultimatum must have a reasonable time period and

the employees involved in the illegal industrial action, together

with a notice to attend a disciplinary hearing.

Remember that whether staff do or do not return to work as

requested, if they have caused damage to company property

they may be disciplined for this misconduct as well.
