Your holiday homework this year is a fun mix of interesting project work and assignments to encourage in-depth

learning, strengthening concepts and preparing ground for improved academic output.

● Subject-wise project work has been designed, incorporating different forms of art to make it an enjoyable experience. Make sure that your work is neat, presentable, innovative and conforms to the guidelines.

● Two practice papers of 35 marks each for all the subjects, except Computer Applications, will be assigned          in the respective google classrooms.The dates of assigning and submission have been specified for each

subject. These papers will keep you in touch with the syllabus, and orient you for the Board examinations.

● The duration of each paper is 1 hour, except for Computer Applications.  ● The papers are required to be turned in,in the respective Google classrooms on the scheduled dates.

ENGLISH 

I. SUBJECT BASED PROJECT:

● Study the variety of artistic sketchbooks of Edgar Degas on Google. ● Draw the most momentous moment in the life of any ONE of the given characters (

Lencho/Nelson Mandela/Anne Frank/Amanda/Ausable) in a pencil sketch in the

style of Edgar Degas’ pencil sketches.

● Caption the illustration. You may attribute one dialogue to the character. ● Type a paragraph (80 -100 words) on a Google doc stating why you have chosen

that particular moment. Add a brief note (40-50 words) on Edgar Degas’

lines/shapes/style of painting.

● Turn in, along with the scanned pdf of your sketch. ● Material:

*A4/A3 size paper from a student sketchbook/sheet of white paper/ any other

material of similar size.

1. Make a wall plate using a square root spiral with any art form (Warli

art,Madhubani , Alphabet art, Number art, Doodling etc.) of your choice.

2. Use any material readily available to you to create your wall plate.

Impossible Geometry: 1. Create an A4 size illustration of paradoxical art, using simple 3D shapes. The aim

is to depict the “infinity” concept through art.

BAMBOO ( Bambusa vulgaris ) CRAFT 

Bamboo is a naturally occurring composite material which

grows abundantly in most tropical countries . It has a very

long history with the human kind.

Bamboo craft is one of the many crafts that is found in

Sikkim.It is used for various purposes and its versatility qualifies it to be a multiple-use alternative to timber and food for rural poor. It is also equally important to Red Panda

(Ailurus fulgens), the state animal of Sikkim.

Things to keep in mind while compiling the Social Science project: 

a) The final contents of the three activities mentioned above: the brochure /newsletter, minimum two screenshots of the video made along with its link printed on A-4 size sheets and the write up on the chosen art form should be put together in one file folder for submission. All text must be handwritten.

(Use A-4 size, coloured sheets on which the written text can be easily read).

b) Ensure that all images / pictures in the brochure / newsletter should be neatly labeled.

c) Only eco-friendly material should be used in the making and decoration of the project.

d) The following order should be kept in mind while compiling the complete file folder:

● Cover Page: project title, student information, school and session (2020 - 21 ) ● List of contents: Contents with page numbers. ● Acknowledgement: Acknowledging the institution and the persons who rendered

help

● Project Overview: Giving information on the Purpose, Aim, Methodology and  Experiences gained while doing the project.

housekeeping. Devote some time to extending help to your parents in completing household chores.

● Infinite options present themselves when it comes to choosing books to read. To make your task easier, one book has been suggested for all. “Land of Cards” (Tasher Desh) by Nobel Laureate, Rabindra Nath Tagore.           So go ahead and enjoy reading.

● Don’t forget that reading becomes meaningful only when done with a purpose. There will be a group discussion on the book later.

famous tourist spots, the unique culture and the scenic beauty of this north eastern state of India using the
