Liam’s eyes always twinkle whenever teacher announces that the class will go out to the playground and have their outdoor play. He enjoys running around and being chased by his classmates. This is also evident when he learns how to hop, walk, gallop, skip and run as his big muscles are being strengthened.

Liam verbally expresses his thoughts well. During class discussions, he always has something to say about our lesson and is very confident to share it with his classmates and teachers. However, sometimes he is reminded to give his classmates a chance to talk.

Table-top activities such as cutting, pasting and writing are everyday tasks that the children do in class. In these pictures, Liam intently works on tasks given to him. He has always been attentive to follow the instructions of his teachers whether they are communicated in a group or one-on-one.

The Building Area is one of Liam’s favorite places in the classroom where he exercises his knowledge of symmetry, balance, and measurements while stacking the blocks together. He is very creative in forming figures but he needs to be reminded to pack away.

There are various ways to learn letters. Liam was able to show three ways. He formed the letter S using his whole body with a classmate, wrote the letter M with a chalk on the ground, and passed under the correct table with the letter that corresponds to the beginning sound of the toy he was holding.

Learning letters and numbers becomes more engaging when done with a classmate. In this picture, Liam, together with Eunice, writes the correct beginning letters of the things that they see in the playground.

During the class’s theme on Daddies, Liam did very well in identifying the things that daddies use and do.

In relation to the theme--Family, Liam learned important Filipino values such as saying “po” and “opo” when talking to elders and putting his parents’ hands on his forehead to bless or “mano”. In this picture, he demonstrates how to pay respect to elders by doing the “mano” values.
