At Tekfen Manufacturing and Engineering (Tekfen İmalat ve Mühendislik), we engineer, manufacture and construct process and storage equipment for the oil, petrochemical, and chemical industries and for industrial facilities such as gas, iron and steel, and power plants. Our product portfolio ranges from cylindrical and spherical storage tanks to heat exchangers, pressure vessels, process columns and pressurized piping.

Set up in 1970 as a Tekfen Group Company, Tekfen Manufacturing has since accumulated a sound know-how, almost half a century of experience and has forged itself a firm reputation for its expertise and reliability in engineering, manufacturing and construction works for process and storage equipment.

Our heavy manufacturing facility is located at Derince-Kocaeli, on the northeastern shore of the Marmara’s İzmit Bay on an area of 48,500 m², 19,250 m² of which is covered halls. The plant is ideally located, as it is adjacent to the International Port of Derince, as well as the railway and the highway.

Tekfen Manufacturing’s customers include international contracting companies and domestic and foreign companies in the petroleum refining, petrochemical and LPG storage and distibution services.

Tekfen Manufacturing is qualified to work with all sorts of carbon steel (including high tensile quenched and tempered), clad carbon steel, all types of stainless steel (including duplex, superduplex), non-ferrous materials such as monel, inconel, brass, aluminum, titanium etc.

1970Tekfen İmalat was founded with a workshop of 2,000 m² closed area in Derince, İzmit, Turkey.

1974Large contract with İGSAŞ (Eng: UHDE) for 68 ea equipments (pressure vessels, columns, stack, double wall tanks, etc.).

We have extensive experience in basic and detail mechanical design of all kinds of cylindrical and spherical storage tanks, pressure vessels, process columns, heat exchangers, reactors and pressurized piping according to international codes such as ASME, API, TEMA, AD-2000, EN 13445, CODAP, PD 5500.

Our work complies with the European Communities Directives PED 2014/68/EU, 99/36/EC, 87/404/EEC,as well as the latest editions of local and international earthquake regulations and other internationally accepted codes.

Upon request, we also provide thermal design for shell and tube type heat exchangers.

We carry out all our design calculations and drawings on internationally recognized softwares such as Compress, Aspen, AMETank, Bentley, SAP-2000 and in-house developed Mathcad applications.

We design, fabricate and construct spherical tanks for storage of LPG, propane, butane, ammonia, ethylene, chlorine, etc. according to German AD-2000, ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2, EN 13445, CODAP, BS 5500 and the latest editions of local and international earthquake regulations.

We deliver turn-key LPG plants with storage, loading, unloading, pumping, metering and control facilities.

To this day, Tekfen Manufacturing has been the main supplier of spherical tanks in Turkey and abroad, with capacities ranging from 500 to 7,000 m3 for various products. The Company also undertook the structural reinforcement of spherical tanks that have been damaged in the 1999 earthquake.

Our spherical tanks are also under operation in Pakistan, Libya, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sudan, Egypt, Oman, Iraq, Morocco, Azerbaijan, Nigeria and Cyprus.

Today, our factory has reacheda production capacity of 20,000 tons/year.

The storage tanks we have designed and fabricated up to date are according to API Std 650 (including Annexes A, C, E, F, H, I, J, M, S, P, V) and API Std 620 (including Annexes L, R) industry standards following customer requirements. Our fabrication capacity for cone roof, dome roof and floating roof tanks per API Std 650, goes above 200,000 m³. We are at the same time capable of delivering according to other internationally accepted codes such as EN 14015, AWWA D100.

Low pressure cold storage tanks either single or double wall type according to API Std 620 for LPG, ammonia and similar products are also in our line of activity.

Three ammonia tanks with 15,000 m³ and 20,000 m3 capacity operating at -36°C and two liquid oxygen cryogenic tanks of 1,000 m³ capacity operating at -193°C service temperature are among our references in this product group in Turkey.

Another area of expertise of Tekfen Manufacturing is the delivery of turn-key tank farms including engineering, fabrication and construction, piping and civil works.

We are fabricating floating head, fixed tube-sheet, U-tube and other shell and tube type heat exchangers (horizontal or vertical, overhead condensers, evaporators, suction heaters, condensers and similar). Exchangers are designed and fabricated according to ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2, AD-2000 or to other codes specified by the customer and to TEMA Class R, C or B.

In addition to carbon steel exchangers, we supply exchangers with various materials of construction such as all kinds of stainless steel, duplex steels, nickel alloys, copper alloys (admiralty or Cu/Ni tubes, naval brass tube-sheets) and titanium.

Exchangers for Turkish Petroleum Corporation with explosion bonded naval brass clad tube-sheets, admiralty tubes and brass baffles, overhead condensers for İzmit Petroleum Refinery with Cu/Ni alloy tubes, as well as titanium clad tube-sheets with titanium tubes for Petkim are but a few reference projects in our portfolio of heat exchangers.

We also perform thermal design for shell and tube type heat exchangers.

In cases where the size or weight of the vessel exceeds transportation limits, we prefabricate the vessel in modules and assemble them at job-site.

All types of carbon steel, stainless steel and carbon steel clad with stainless steel, monel, brass and other clad materials are used for the fabrication of the above-mentioned equipment.

Our plant can handle pressure vessels up to 8,500 mm dia. and 100 mm steel thickness and 60 m length as one unit.

Process columns are the critical equipment for petroleum refineries, petrochemical, chemical and fertiliser industries. We perform mechanical design including wind and earthquake calculations, stress analyses and fabrication of process columns.

We manufacture almost any size and shape of columns and our reference list includes columns manufactured for various industries. Similarly to pressure vessels, in cases where the size or weight of the column exceeds transportation limits, we prefabricate the column in modules and assemble them at job-site.

All types of carbon steel, stainless steel and carbon steel clad with stainless steel, monel, brass and other clad materials are used for the fabrication of the above-mentioned equipment.

Columns up to 8,500 mm dia. and 100 mm steel thickness and 60 m length can be fabricated in one piece at our factory.

Another area of expertise of Tekfen Manufacturing is the delivery of turn-key tank farms including engineering, fabrication and construction, piping and civil works.

To this day, Tekfen Manufacturing has been the main supplier of spherical tanks (pressurized gas spheres) in Turkey and abroad, with capacities ranging from 500 to 7,000 m³ for various products. We deliver turn-key LPG plants with storage, loading, unloading, pumping, measuring and control facilities, and tanker filling systems for the industry.

We also undertake HRSG systems on turn-key basis in collaboration with expert companies.

Pressurized Piping

We manufacture pipe spools and assemble power plant piping with ASME Code “S“ Symbol Stamp according to ASME Section I and boiler external piping according to ASME B31.1.

The Company has a considerable experience in all sorts of carbon steels, all types of stainless steels, low and high alloy steels, duplex steels and non-ferrous materials.

Steam Boilers

We fabricate boilers by collaborating with an expert international engineering company on project basis. To this day, we have constructed industrial water tube type boilers up to 150 t/hr capacity.

Heavy Structural Steel Construction

Blast furnace supporting structure and other heavy steel construction works are in our manufacturing programme.

Some of our reference projects are the construction of a reactor regenerator for Turkish Petroleum Corporation’s İzmir Refinery, the supporting construction of a 6,600 ton blast furnace for Erdemir, and steel structures for İskenderun and Afşin Elbistan-B power plants.

We fabricate steel ladles, galvanization baths, turbine casings and press structures for various industries and steel constructions of tyre curing presses are also included in our manufacturing programme.

Other Products and Systems

Since 1970, we have engineered and supplied complete vacuum plants, flare systems and waste heat recovery systems.
