ETA approval and conformity
Hilti anchor channels hold the ETA-11/0006 (28.02.2012) European Technical Approval and are thus construction supervisory authority approved for use under static or quasi-static loading in normal reinforced or unreinforced concrete of at least the C12/15 grade and up to a maximum of the C90/105 grade as per EN 206:2000-12. The anchor channels may be used to provide anchorage in cracked or uncracked concrete. The anchor channels may be used to take up tensile or shear loads or a combination of tensile loads and shear loads acting at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the channel. The anchor channels may also be used where the anchorage is required to meet fire resistance requirements.
The HAC-40 to HAC-70 anchor channels normally used for elevator installation may also be used in conjunction with the HBC-C special bolts in situations where fatigue-relevant tensile loading occurs.
The Hilti anchor channel system is subject not only to the company’s own internal manufacturing quality inspections but also to independent production quality monitoring carried out according to predefined inspection plans. Consistently high product quality is thus ensured.
The EC Conformity Certificate confirms that all regulations concerning the certification of conformity and the performance characteristics of the product, as described in ETA-11/0006, have been applied and that the specified requirements are fulfilled.

The Hilti Anchor Channel System
The HAC-40 is the preferred anchor channel for elevator installation. All channels are equipped with end caps and an LDPE foam insert with tear-out strip to prevent filling with concrete during the concrete pouring phase. The end caps also prevent bolts being positioned in areas beyond the last cast-in anchor, which is not permitted in accordance with the terms of the approval. They are thus also an important safety feature. The tear-out strip allows easy removal of the foam insert and as the insert generally remains in one piece during removal, it can be disposed of easily.
One bolt type fits all anchor channels. The bolts are available in various lengths and diameters in stainless steel, zinc-plated and hot-dip galvanized versions.

The Hilti Anchor Channel System
Clear marking for reliable identification
Hilti anchor channels have clear markings on the outside surface that allow correct identification before casting in concrete. The markings consist of the Hilti logo, the channel type designation and the type of corrosion protection. The channels bear a unique production number that indicates the production lot as well as the channel type, to aid identification.
The same markings can be found inside the channel. These are visible after removal of the foam strip and allow identification after installation (i.e. after casting in).
Hilti bolts bear marks on the head indicating the bolt type, strength class, corrosion class and also include a manufacturing mark. The tip of the bolt features a distinct groove that provides a clear indication of bolt head alignment. Bolts with notching heads can be identified after installation by the 2 grooves in the tip.
Hilti anchor channels are hot-dip galvanized in accordance with ISO 1461:1999 or, respectively, EN ISO 1461:2009. Further details of the galvanizing can be found in ETA-11/0006.

HBC-C-Ebolt lengths
Hilti HBC-C bolts are designed and approved for use with the HAC anchor channel system. They comply with the requirements of EN ISO 4018. The HBC-C bolts are supplied either in a zinc-plated finish following ISO 1461:1999 with a zinc thickness of ≥ 8µm or hot-dip galvanized with a zinc thickness of ≥ 45µm. Please note the details given in European Technical Approval ETA-11/0006.The Hilti HBC-C-E special bolts are particularly suitable for elevator installation applications. HBC-C standard bolts may, of course, also be used.
HBC-C-N notched T-bolts are available for use in situations where forces require to be taken up parallel to the anchor channel (Vparallel). Application of the tightening torque causes indentations to be formed in the lip of normal HAC anchor channels, providing the necessary keying effect that allows these longitudinal forces to be taken up. Use of notched T-bolts allows longitudinal forces to be taken up by the channel according to specification without need for channels with a serrated lip. This greatly reduces complexity on the jobsite in terms of the items required.

www.hilti.com 9
Notched T-bolts
Longitudinal forces parallel to the channel axis may be caused by various actions or effects such as stabilizing loads or as a result of earthquakes. The design of anchor channels for loads of this kind is not covered by European standards. Hilti has thus developed its own design concept for this situation. The applicable steel tests were carried out at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany.
Longitudinal forces can be taken up reliably either by serrated T-bolts together with serrated channels (HAC-30) or by way of HBC-C-N notched T-bolts and standard (HAC-40 to HAC-70) channels thanks to the keying effect they achieve.
Serrated channels achieve this keying effect as a result of the serrated lip of the channel. When notched T-bolts are used, however, the notches in the channel lip are formed only when the tightening torque is applied to the bolt. The advantages of this system are the lower level of complexity due to use of channels of the same type plus finer adjustability as notch spacing is no longer predefined.

Scaffolding shoes with a maximum loading capacity of 5.5 kN, 9 kN or 12 kN are available for the erection of installation platforms in elevator shafts. These scaffolding shoes are designed for use with square timber with a width of 10 cm. The scaffolding shoes have been certified by the DGUV (German accident insurance organization, formerly known as BG) with certificate number 12229-DGUV dated 03.12.2012.
The stage shoe cast-in sleeve feature a plastic foil cover to prevent entry of concrete slurry during the concrete pouring operation.
The installation instructions and instructions for use must be observed. The universal stage shoe can be installed on concrete of at least the C20/25 grade using at least two Hilti HST M12x115/20 anchors. If the shoes are to be used in masonry shafts (i.e. brick or block) we recommend that the loading capacity of the masonry is determined by carrying out anchor pull-out tests and the fastening method designed accordingly. The anchor points and slings comply with the German trade association safety regulations “Safety regulations for transport anchors / systems for prefabricated concrete components” (BGR 106). The instructions for installation and use must be observed. The load can be taken up at an angle of up to 45° from the vertical axis. Shear load reinforcement must be provided for loading angles of between 12.5° and 45°. With shear loading a load increase factor must be taken into account. The given loads are the recommended static loads for concrete of at least the C12/15 (B15) grade, calculated with a safety factor of at least 2.5. Any dynamic loads that occur (oscillating loads, shock loads) require precise analysis. Please contact Hilti for advice. For WAS anchors, reinforcement at least equal to that of a Q188 must be installed. Existing reinforcement can also be taken into account.
The anchors are galvanized to help prevent corrosion. A structural analysis must be carried out in order to verify how the load is taken up by the structure.

Secure anchor points / lifting loops for installation on shaft roofs
The load hooks are supplied in sets consisting of the nail plate, identification ring and anchor. This ensures that all parts required are at hand when carrying out the installation. There is no need to assemble individual parts on the jobsite. The identification ring remains visible after installation and provides information about the manufacturer, anchor point load class and its diameter.
All Peikko JENKA TLL lifting loops are marked with a loading capacity tag. These show the manufacturer’s mark, the loading capacity and type plus the CE mark. In addition to this, the loading capacity tag, identification ring and nail plate are color coded, i.e. the right combination of Peikko JENKA anchor and Peikko JENKA TLL is indicated by the same color of identification ring and loading capacity tag. It is therefore very easy to ensure that the correct, matching Peikko JENKA anchors and Peikko JENKA load-carrying attachments are always used.
Safety instructionsAll load-carrying attachments must be subjected to an annual routine inspection (BGR 500, section 2.8). The inspection is the responsibility of the contractor and must be carried out by a suitably experienced and qualified person. Welding or modification (especially bending) of Peikko- JENKA anchors is not permissible.
