Thursday, April 25, 2019 Open to children in Kindergarten through 8 th grade Please note, employees are required to accompany their child(ren) for the entirety of the day, inclusive of lunch and to all activities/sessions. Further, employees must participate in at least two (2) of the scheduled sessions which are listed below. During the nonevent time, the employee and their child/children are expected to be in the employee's work area; therefore, your supervisor will need to ensure the workspace is appropriate. The supervisor’s approval must be reflected by his/her signature on the consent form. A consent form must be completed for each child that will participate and must be uploaded with your registration by Friday, April 12, 2019. No child will be permitted to participate if the consent form is not received by the deadline. COMPLETE EVENT LIST BUSCH CAMPUS: Welcome Event/Photo Op with the Scarlet Knight and Spirit Squad (Life Sciences Building, 145 Bevier Road, Piscataway, NJ) – Hours: 10 am to 11 am. Bring your camera so that you can snap a picture of your child with the Rutgers mascot and spirit squad! (Note: Open to all ages) Chemistry Demonstrations (Chemistry Building, 123 Bevier Road, Piscataway, NJ) – Hours: 10 am and 11 am. The chemistry demonstrations will last approximately 1 hour. (Note: Limited space; open to all ages) The Rutgers Companion Animal Club (Life Sciences Building, 145 Bevier Road, Piscataway, NJ) – Hours 10 am to 12 pm. Learn about service dogs and destress with some therapeutic techniques. (Note: This activity is scheduled outdoors and with a rain location; open to all ages) Math & Science Learning Center (Allison Road Classroom Building, 618 Allison Road, Piscataway, NJ) – A tour of the Demos: 12 pm to 1 pm and 1 pm to 2 pm. The tour will last approximately 1 hour. (Note: Limited space; open to all ages) COLLEGE AVENUE: Geology Museum (85 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ) – Hours: 10 am to 4 pm. The museum will have natural science themed arts, crafts, and activity stations set up around the Museum (Note: All tours are selfdirected; open to all ages)

•   Emoji  Emergency  Scavenger  Hunt  at  the  Zimmerli  Art  Museum  (71  Hamilton  Street,  New  Brunswick,  NJ)  –  Hours:  10  am  to  2  pm.    Uh  oh!  Something  has  gone  wrong  in  the  museum  database  and  all  of  our  picture  files  have  turned  into  emojis!  Search  the  museum  and  help  us  match  the  emoji  combinations  to  the  right  works  of  art.  This  is  a  drop-­‐in  activity  with  no  set  duration  –  you  can  work  on  solving  the  clues  for  one  gallery  or  several.  (Note:  This  activity  is  entirely  self-­‐directed;  open  to  all  ages)    

•   Rockness  Monster  Music  featuring  Gaston  Cabellero  (Rutgers  Barnes  &  Noble,  100  Somerset  St,  2nd  floor)  –  Hours:  10:30  am,  11:00  am,  11:30  am  (20  minute  shows).  Gaston  Cabellero,  Rockness  Music  music  specialist  and  Rockness  Monsters  band  member,  sings  original  songs  from  the  award  winning  Michael  &  The  Rockness  Monsters.  Heralded  by  the  New  York  Times,  Parents  Magazine,  and  the  School  Library  Journal,  among  others,  and  recently  featured  on  w  NYC,  Rockness  Music  combines  the  value  of  music  education  with  the  energy  of  a  live  concert.  Funk-­‐inspired  and  sincerely  silly,  expect  lots  of  interactive  props  and  crowd  participation.  (Note:  Limited  space;  open  to  ages  5-­‐7/grades  K-­‐3  )    

•   Anthropology  Event  (Geology  Museum,  85  Somerset  St,  New  Brunswick,  NJ)  –  Hours  11  am  to  12  pm.    

 •   Rutgers  World  Traveler  (Academic  Building,  15  Seminary  Place,  3rd  floor)  –  Hours:  11  

am  to  1:  30  pm.  Welcome  children  to  the  world  of  languages  by  becoming  a  "Rutgers  world  traveler."    Every  visiting  child  will  receive  a  WORLD  TRAVELER  passport  that  will  be  stamped  for  each  country  they  visit.  Experience  a  linguistic  and  cultural  tour  of  the  world  via  activities  and  fun  with  arts,  crafts,  music,  games,  and  story  books.  Including  learning  to  speak  and/or  write  your  name  in  a  different  language.  (Note:  The  format  is  a  continuous  walk  through;  open  to  all  ages)  

   COOK/DOUGLASS:    

•   The  WOW  Van  (59  Dudley  Road,  New  Brunswick,  NJ)  –  Hours  11  am,  11:30  am,  12  pm,  12:30  pm.  The  Wellness  on  Wheels  (WOW)  Van  will  be  parked  in  the  Dudley  Road  circle  outside  of  Foran  Hall.  Parents  will  be  able  to  accompany  their  children  into  the  van  to  learn  about  health  and  wellness.  Each  session  is  30  minutes.  (Note:  Limited  space  –  see  registration;  open  to  ages  by  time  slot  –  11  am  to  12  pm, ages  5-­‐7/grades  K-­‐3;  12  pm  –  12:30  pm,  ages  8-­‐10/grades  3-­‐5;  12:30  pm  –  1pm,  ages  11-­‐13/grades  6-­‐8)
