In time, you may notice that your ceiling fan is not able to maintain the right speed or it has started to make a squeaking

sound but this does not mean that you have to replace it. What these two things are telling you are that your ceiling fans needs oiled. Yes, there are ceiling fans that has a built-in system that

automatically oils your ceiling fan when it is running but this does not mean that it will never require oiling. You may even have to oil this type of ceiling fan if the bearings dry out or get dirty. You

may also need to oil it if it has been in use for a long time.

Oiling your ceiling fan has two benefits. •You are saved from hazardous situations like the stiffening of the fan blades or burning of the motor. You can even be saved from it falling down.

It is not hard to oil your ceiling fan or any electrical upgrades. You just have to make sure that you are using the proper safety measures and following a few simple steps. The first thing that you need to do is make sure that you have all your supplies on hand, which include: •Paper towels•Step ladder•Rags•All-purpose cleaner•Machine oil/non-detergent oil, which you can find at most hardware stores or in the balancing kit that came with your ceiling fan

Types of Ceiling Fans

In todays world both residential and businesses use ceiling fans not only for decorative purposes but because they are functional. Ceiling fans come in many different designs that range from complex to simple. There are ceiling fans for any space. Some have lighting elements attached while for others there are simple lighting kits you can buy if the ceiling fan you chose did not come with lighting fixtures. When you choose a ceiling fan look for ones that not only meet your needs but will also compliment or match the décor of the room where it is being installed.

A ceiling fan can have from three to five blades or paddles, ranging in size from over a couple of feet to a little over four feet in length. How many blades and the length of them that you need depend on the size of the room you need cooled.
