A magnificent, secluded setting…

Talon Lodge is set on a private 8-acre island off the coast of Sitka, widely considered to beAlaska’s most scenic seaside town. Sitka is located on the outer banks of Baranof Island on thewaterways of Alaska’s legendary Inside Passage. Mt. Edgecumbe, an extinct, snowcapped volcanothat bears a striking resemblance to Japan’s Mt. Fuji, presides over the landscape, while TongassNational Forest, with its massive stands of western hemlock and Sitka spruce delivers magnificentviews of the Alaskan wilderness. As the only community in southeastern Alaska that fronts thePacific Ocean, Sitka looks out over a waterscape dotted with heavily wooded islands, one of whichis the exclusive home of Talon Lodge.

Sitka is served by Alaska Airlines with daily service from Seattle, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneauand Ketchikan. Flying time from Seattle is approximately 2 1/2 hours. Guests of Talon Lodge aremet at Sitka’s international airport and transported by boat to Talon Lodge, just 15 minutes away.The Sitka airport also has tie down space for 38 private aircraft, of which 16 spaces are allocatedfor transient aircraft.

Sitka can also be reached by ferries that operate on the Alaska Marine Highway System. Thesestate-operated ferries depart from Bellingham, WA (just north of Seattle); Prince Rupert, BritishColumbia; and Skagway and Haines, Alaska.

Sitka is an angler’s paradise, offering some of the most magnificent salmon fishing in the worldand halibut that frequently tip the scales at over 100 lbs. In fact, the Sitka area boasts the highest saltwater sportfishing catch rate for King Salmon in Alaska. Other salmonspecies such as Coho, Pink and Chum Salmon also abound in the waters of Sitka Sound; Ling Cod and Yellow-Eye Snapper are abundant throughout the season.

Talon Lodge has teamed up with some of the most experienced pilots and freshwater fishing guides in SoutheastAlaska. Experience some of the most incredible freshwater fishing in some of the most remote locations on earth.

Our freshwater fishing trips feature native Steelhead in the spring, native Rainbows and Cutthroats throughout thesummer, and a variety of wild Alaska Salmon. The Sockeye Salmon run is in late June and early July. The Pink Salmonrun is in mid to late July. The Silver Salmon run is in late August through late September.

Talon’s fishing guides are seasoned professionals with years of experience as commercial fishermen and sport fishing guides in Sitka’s magnificent waters. Theyknow where and when to fish the Sitka Sound hot spots and their mission is to provide Talon Lodge guests with the most amazing fishing experience of their lives.

Whether you can only manage to get away for a three-night stay or you have the luxury of more time, we’ll make sure you get in as much prime fishing time aspossible. At Talon lodge, we take care of everything. Our boats will be waiting for you each morning; supplied with the finest fishing gear, all-weather gear andwildlife viewing equipment. With the aid of one of our experienced guides, you’ll fish from early morning to late afternoon each day, before returning to the lodgefor a well-earned gourmet dinner. Just when you think nothing could compare to the day’s fishing, you’ll step out onto the deck and take in a view of the Alaskanwilderness that surpasses anything you’ve ever seen.

No "roughing it" required…

Just because you’re embarking on an adventure in the awe-inspiring Alaskan wilderness doesn’tmean you have to rough it in bunk-house accommodations. At Talon Lodge, the main lodge offersSoutheast Alaska's most stunning view. The lodge is equipped with a full gourmet kitchen andserves as the dining room for each of your meals. Our guest accommodations and setting are likeno other lodge in Alaska. There are no bunk beds and each room offers a waterfront view.

The guest rooms are designed to accommodate couples, family groups, corporate groups ofmultiple sizes and, of course, the die-hard fishing group. Talon Lodge is secluded and exclusive.Our accommodations are limited to only 18 guests per package session.

To maintain the tranquility of our private island experience for all of our guests, the Sporting Clay activity at Talon Lodge is limited to corporate groups andavailable upon advance request.

Sitka Sound offers Alaska’s very best salmon fishery. King Salmon are the highlight of the fishery and are caught from April through Septemberwith the peak from May through July. There is no other location in Alaska where the fishing is so diverse and active all summer long. To help youin your planning, the following overview will guide you to the best fishing available in each month:

May — King Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod, Yellow Eye Snapper, Steelhead (Freshwater)

June — King Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod (Until June 15), Yellow Eye Snapper, Sockeye (Freshwater)

July — King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, Halibut, Yellow Eye Snapper, Sockeye (Freshwater)
