News You Can UseOrange County has officially entered Phase II of COVID-19 reopening plans, which means we are moving about and reconnecting with friends and hopefully finding time to visit our favorite service providers. From the looks of the fresh haircuts and manicures, I believe many of us have been pretty quick to reacquaint ourselves with Phase II amenities.
On July 1, our pools and clubhouses are reopening. We are required to follow the guidance of Orange County Health Care Agency, so you will notice a few required changes. Please refer to the articles in this newsletter and observe all

posted signs at the pools and clubhouses. Even with the restrictions, this is a move in the right direction.
At our June 16 Board of Directors meeting, we reviewed a draft of our HOA Election Rules. You may recall in 2019 a copy was sent to all homeowners for comment. Those rules were never ratified by the board. That turned out to work in our favor, because in 2020 new laws in California went into effect invalidating some portions of the previous drafted rules. In the next week, you will receive a mailed copy of the revised draft Election Rules. Please review them and offer your comments to the management team. When we meet at our next board meeting, we will consider all comments received and determine any needed modifications and then move toward approving the Election Rules.
Also, during our June 16 meeting, we made an adjustment to the clubhouse security deposit. We reduced the fee from the current $300 back to the original $100 deposit. Remember, the clubhouse security deposit is 100% refundable, provided the facility is returned to the same pre-event condition.
In other news, all security cameras have been removed from inside the clubhouses and, along with the building exterior cameras, have been repositioned to view the street, parked cars, and sidewalk areas.
The 4th of July is nearly here! Please enjoy a safe holiday and thank you for your strong sense of community and in general just caring for one another during these historic, unpredictable and unprecedented times. More than ever, I believe Tanglewood IS “A Special Place to Live!”

Paseo de Oro and Via Largo Clubhouses Will Reopen July 1st
The Phase II reopening guidelines require us to make the following adjustments:
◊ Maximum clubhouse occupancy has been reduced from 50 to 15◊ Only one event per day per clubhouse will be scheduled◊ Following an event the tables and chairs will be left out and open for sanitizing◊ At the conclusion of each event the association reservationist will come to the clubhouse to return the security deposit, pick up the key and ensure the room is clean. ◊ Sanitizing of the room and both restrooms will be performed immediately following all events.
We have modified the Reservation Form to reflect these temporary changes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we move through the Phase II reopening process.

MESSAGE TO THE COMMUNITY
Community relations is not defined by an event, it is a way of life.
For the first time in over 100 years, a worldwide pandemic struck and residents living in our association complied with stay at home requests, wore masks when venturing outside and observed 6-foot social distancing guidelines.
Each day without exception owners and renters alike offered their time to shop, drive, move and lift heavy items for others. Dog walkers worked hard being eyes on the grounds for us.
Neighbors shared art supplies, jigsaw puzzles, books, tools, toys, and movies with one another. People who used the clubhouses to connect with one another began using computers like newscasters to keep in touch.
When I contacted people to cancel clubhouse reservations I was met with understanding and more open offers to assist others.
Community Relations came in the form of drive by birthday and graduation parties, courtesy of the Cypress Police and Orange County Fire Department. Residents from surrounding buildings came outside to help celebrate these special occasions. Evening gatherings of children playing out in the front open areas became entertainment for the adults sitting on their porches. Families spent more time together outside - everyone waving and smiling.
Yes, I would like to say we will be able to plan some community events, but we really do not know what the future will bring. Yet reflecting over the past two months, we really have had many wonderful spontaneous events and one thing we do know, and I’m not the first to say it, in good times and bad Tanglewood North is “A Special Place To Live.”
