    CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DESIGN REVIEW AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISIONOF ARUSHA – HOLILI/TAVETA ROAD: WIDENING TO DUAL CARRIAGEWAY OF SAKINA

     – TENGERU SECTION (14.1 KM) AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARUSHA BYPASS (42.4 KM):TENDER NO. AE/001/2013-14/HQ/C/132

    The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received loan from the AfricanDevelopment Bank toward the cost of the reconstruction of the Multinational Arusha  – Holili/Taveta  –  Voi Road, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan topayments under the contract for consulting services for Design Review and ConstructionSupervision of Widening to Dual Carriageway of Sakina  –  Tengeru Section (14.1 Km) andConstruction of Arusha Bypass Section (42.4 Km).

    The services included under this project are design review and construction supervision whichwill involve and not limited to the following:(i) Design review to ensure correctness, completeness and compliance with nationally

    and internationally acceptable standards and update where necessary;(ii) Supervision of the Works Contract to ensure that the works comply with the approved

    design, drawings, specifications, conditions of contract and sound engineeringpractice;

    (iii) Undertake 7 days classified traffic count once in every year during the Constructionperiod, prepare comprehensive report every six months on the ESMP and provideannual report on measures adopted for the safety of project roads, sensitization oflocal population on HIV/AIDS,STI,TB and Gender issues;

    (iv) Preparation of final construction report and as built drawings of all completed works;(v) Supervision of maintenance activities during the defects liability period; and(vi) Preparation of the Project Completion Report (PCR).

    The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) an Executive Agency of the Ministry ofWorks now invites eligible Consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services.

    Interested Consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform theservices (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions,availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures toenhance their chances of qualification.

    Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be inaccordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the Use ofConsu ltants May 2008 Edition- Revised July 2012” , which is available on the Bank’s websiteat http://www.afdb.org.
