TO GOD’S PEOPLE AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH SENATOBIA

We just wanted to thank you for your gracious gift of $2000 to the Navajo Nation. As you know the Navajo people now have the highest per capita COVID infection rate in the country. They have been hard hit in so many ways resulting in great despair, but at the same time, a great opportunity for ministry is before us. Your gift is being directed to Navajo Church Planter, Jesse Billy, who is ministering to many elderly Navajo families hard to locate and hard to reach, who are not able to be assisted otherwise. Your gift was

also directed to Navajo Church Planter, Sanford Dick, at Indian Wells.

Please know your gift is much needed and appreciated. . .God bless you all!

BACK YARD BIBLE CLUBS

June 22-25, 9-11am

What will we be doing? We will provide a rotation of activities (including recreation, crafts, bible study and snack) for the children in 2 neighborhoods to participate in while you, your family, your children participate with them, serve and play with them. On Monday, June 22 we will canvas at these locations (from 9-11am) with flyers and waivers to invite all kids who finished 1st-6th to participate in this mission outreach and prep any crafts for the coming days. This is first a mission outreach activity for families to serve in to-gether but we also understand some parents may not be able to miss work. Finished 4th-6th graders can sign up to serve at this out-reach without their parent. They will be able to “do” the activities right along with the other kids but will also be expected to serve, to talk with kids they may not know, to give up their turn to allow oth-ers a chance, to help younger children with their crafts, etc. It’s a mission trip for them to serve their community. If your children are younger than the 1st-6th allowed to participate they can still come and serve alongside you. We want families there serving together and these younger ones will learn a lot in watching you serve and helping in ways they can.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES:

Each Wednesday we will alternate our groups and meeting times. All their SS leaders are invited to join us.

June 17—Finished 4K– 2nd 6-7pm June 24 —Finished 3rd-6th 6-7pm

During this time we will fellowship with snacks and games and study God’s word. We will meet outside on

the Pee Wee field so kids are encouraged to bring a towel or lawn chair for seating.

If it rains we will meet in the gym.

YOUTH NEWS

1 Thessalonians 2:12 states “We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.” We have been living in interesting days. As people have been versing their opinion on so many topics these days, here is a thought from my quiet time yesterday.” What is your goal in life? To be a great hus-band? To be a great father? To be kind? To be honest? To be filled with justice? The list can go on and on but what we need is to be like Christ. Christ radically changed the world through love and a change of heart and mind that literally turned the world upside down. He stood before people who accused him and didn’t respond. Is that a little crazy? He didn’t have to respond. Jesus’ whole life stood as a testament against what he was accused of but he understood his goal and purpose in life. Are we living our lives understanding our goal and purpose in our lives? If we will be like Jesus, it will cover all the other goals we want to achieve and some other goals may fade away. The most important thing in our life is Christ. When that relationship is right, everything else will be right. May this verse challenge you as it did me to yield my heart and mind to Christ. Randy

For the first time since 1945, the SBC annual meeting was can-celled. I bring this to your attention, because the meeting would be going on right now. As you pray for the leaders of our city, state and nation, please remember to pray also for the Executive Committee and other leaders of our convention. They are navigating increasingly diffi-cult and uncertain waters and desperately needed to be able to meet with their messengers this week from around the country. As the culture continues to push against the walls of the church, we as a convention must stand firm. We must do so lovingly, but we must stand firm. Without the benefit of our annual meeting, some of the cultural issues that need to be discussed will have to wait, and some will be acted upon. Pray for wisdom and direction and discernment for those men and women who lead our convention...that God’s will would be done. I know the world is in chaos, but the wisdom and direction of the Lord provides peace and assurance. 1 John 2:18-25 this week. Study up! See you Sunday! Bro. Chris
