Target audience

My target audience would be people aged between mid-teens to early 20’s and are relatively intelligent. This is because I believe that intelligent people would be less likely to believe in the stereotypes and unethical values that mainstream media offers in favour of the more moral ethos of indie music. This is one of the reasons why I added a female member to my indie band, not only for the practical applications of selling my magazine, which is what mainstream magazines would most likely do, but also for purely moral reasons as well in that I want to ensure that I represent gender roles in the most equal way possible as I felt that my core demographic would have a problem with sexualising women.

My core demographic would most likely be people who enjoy indie music as I have found during my research that indie music is a relatively niche market, which is why I did not include any other genres in my magazine, such as pop or metal as they would not be interested in my indie magazine.
