WHO IS MY TARGET AUDIENCE?

• My Target audience is youg, male adults agedbetween the age of 15-25.

• I chose males in this age range because they are portrayed as thrill seekers due to there high hormone levels.

• My target audience are usually still in education ranging from high school to universityor in the early stages of theircareer.

• The graph shows that the majority of males said yes toliking horror movies.

STEREOTYPES – WHAT DO THEY LIKE?My target audience of young, male adults are stereotyped to like horror films for many reasons such as;

• Famous Actors e.g. Brad Pitt, Patrick Wilson, Will Smith, Heath Ledger

• Good-looking female lead e.g. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Megan Fox, Jennifer Lawrence

• Frightening aspect which gives them the thrill they need to support their hormone levels.

• Violence

FILMS FOR MY TARGET AUDIENCE

Young, male adults would like the films below as they all have female actors would most men would see as good-looking, they gave violent and “gory” scenes, and they have intense and frightening scenes all of which fit the young male adult stereotype.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=it5XICr93wU - This is the link for the trailer to‘Would You Rather’. The trailer has intense frightening moments and gets straight to the point which is what stereotypically attracts males when watching trailers.

HOW DO I ATTRACT MY TARGET AUDIENCE?

In order to attract my target audience I had to feature certain aspects of horror films. For example we have:

• A Female Lead: This attracts my target audience because most males enjoy watching females.

• Intense music/sound effects: This attracts my target audience because it conveys the genre of horror and makes it more intense as teenagers are thrill seekers and like the adreniline rush of been scared.
