By providing two methods of entering andcalculating costs, Eco Tools caters for both‘combined’ tariffs where transmission costsetc are aggregated into a simple unit costtariff and for ‘pass-through’ tariffs.Even with ‘combined tariffs’, charges inaddition to the unit costs can be specifiedsuch as Capacity or Supply charges andClimate Change (Environmental) charges.

‘Pass-through’ tariffs have all costs, including DuoS andTNUoS charges, passed from the distribution and meteroperator to the end user and are individually identifiedand costed. Hence, Eco Tools provides the means tocreate custom tariffs as well as providing templates forthe more common offerings.Each element of the charge can be specified and thelayout can be ordered by the user to either mimic theinvoices being received or to provide a clearerunderstanding of the charges.

In addition to costing against previous usage, EcoTools has a comprehensive Targeting section. Thisallows users to create targets based on previoususage and then modify them for future changes on adaily, weekly or monthly basis. Hence users can costfuture energy on forecast consumption and demandrates, employing control where savings can be made without detriment to production or operations.

Eco Tools additional featuresUpon entering the initial page of EcoTools, a summary of the selected period,meters and data is clearly displayedtogether with over 8 separate analysiselements. Data can be displayed asenergy, volume, cost and carbon or it canbe customised to suit. These featuresallow the manager and team or tenant tosee an overview of usage or drill down toidentify the exact point of interest.

Energy and cost can be displayed per meter on a day, week and monthly basis per half hour (the shortest recording element of the utilities). Individual targets can be created (part of the system) and overlayed to easily identify exceptions.

A complete section allows the user toanalyse the highest, lowest and averageusage for any day, period, month andseason. Further analysis and reports areavailable for totals, months, years andmaximum demands.

The data collector can be accessed andinterrogated for usage in realtime. Upto 8meter profiles can be selected to bedisplayed with updates every minute ifdirectly connected to the meter or as datais received via a non-direct route e.g. viaradio.
