FACTUAL PAGE LAYOUTTask 10

Page 2: Task 10

PEER FEEDBACKI asked some of my peers to tell me which layout they preferred the best out of each of the

pages that I produced for each task and why in order to me to be able to have some other people’s perspective on my work instead of my own so that I could make a fully informed evaluation.

When asked which they preferred out of the three broadsheet layouts that I created, my peers were evenly split between preferring the first and second of my pages, it was said that within my first page layout I had used the guides and margins very well as the way in which I had used my columns was very effective and made the page look more professional. My peers who thought that the second of my layouts was the strongest said that it seemed more realistic as a broadsheet, and generally looked more aesthetically pleasing due to the balanced way in which I had positioned my text and imagery.

PEER FEEDBACK

When I asked the same question with regards to the layouts which I created for task 8, which was to create a tabloid page, my peers were evenly split again between the second and third layout that I created. My peers all made comments on how they could see my designs being printed for a tabloid newspaper as they looked very professional. One person suggested that in order to make my third design seem more realistic I could have coloured the whole of the background black as this is the way in which usual tabloids are presented. This feedback was good for me as I could think about how effective my products would be when put into production within the actual industry. This particular task I felt helped me to become more familiar with the program InDesign and helped me to develop my skills.

BROADSHEET 1

Page 6: Task 10

Using my first layout design for this task as a guide to follow I started to create my first broadsheet. I opened InDesign and created a new blank document with the correct dimensions of a current broadsheet and a 1cm margin surrounding the whole sheet. I then created a custom grid with three columns and three rows as this is was what I estimated would be the correct guide which would fit the flat plan to which I was working from. After this is then started to put a number of content boxes in place that would contain the images and copy that I would be using within the page, I made sure that all of the content boxed fit into the columns, rows and grids that I had put in place, I decided that the page should look very organised and in line as this follows the current layout of broadsheets that are created now. After I was happy with the positioning of all of my content boxes (which followed my first layout idea) I was then able to insert the copy which I had written for a previous unit, purposefully for a broadsheet article, into the three columns which I had allocated for copy. I chose a suitable front out of the seven that I had specified within my copy development and applied it to the body of text within my page, I was then able to alter the size of the text to make sure that it would be legible to the audience of the broadsheet which meant that it would have to not be too large or too small – I conducted some research into the usual layout of broadsheets to help me with this. When I had decided on the correct font size I then added a finishing touch of a drop capital to start the story off, I created this effect by highlighting the first letter, then going into the paragraph section of InDesign and choosing the option for Drop caps and Nested styles and changed the number of lines that the drop capital should descend into the copy to 7 in order to create the desired effect. To add the final touch to my copy I placed a pull quote within the second column between two paragraphs, I inserted it here to create some interest within the copy and break up the text in order to make it seem more reader friendly. I applied the drop capital effect to the first quotation mark within the quote to draw attention to it while connecting it to the first drop capital within the copy creating balance within the body. I chose a short quote to extract from the copy to be used for the pull quote which I knew would attract the correct audience and was relevant to the story so that it would interest the reader and draw people into the article. After I had finalised all aspects of my copy body. I then went on to insert my header into its already chosen positioning within the spread, I had already chosen a font which was suitable for the title and a phrase that was relevant to the story and would be attractive to the audience too, all I had to do was select my font and type in the title. The font that I chose was eye-catching, simplistic and distinct which, in my opinion, made it perfect from a broadsheet newspaper. The imagery was the next aspect of the broadsheet that I had to focus on, I had already developed and sourced the images that I was going to use within the page, and the content boxes that I had inserted in the beginning of the production of this page specified exactly where the images were going to be positioned within the spread. I placed the images into the content boxes, resized them to fit the relevant size of the boxes, making sure that the actual image was not pixelated and that the reader would be able to see the image clearly. The images that I sourced and chose to use within my broadsheet creation are detailed, relevant to the story, interesting, and both full colour and monochrome, adding more visual depth to the page as a whole. My broadsheet was then finished, and after taking a step back and looking at the jpeg without the guides and margins, I think that this page layout is simplistic, but effective, it ‘does what it says on the tin’ – it is communicating the story to the public in an effective way. I put a lot of effort into the production of the page, however I do think that I could have created a page that was more visually interesting, however I do think that it follows then conventional layout in a broadsheet. There is a small amount of white space after the end of the copy, I could have included an advert which would have filled this space, making the page complete.

Page 7: Task 10

BROADSHEET 2

Page 8: Task 10

I decided that I would carry on using the same process as I did with starting the production of my first broadsheet page because it was extremely effective, so I again followed the second flat plan that I produced when developing my ideas for the broadsheet, created a blank document within InDesign and this time changed the guides to have five rows and three columns as this was what I thought would fit in with the layout of the flat plan I produced. I then did the same as I had before and started to insert my content boxes into the grids, making sure they were all in line and in proportion to each other, using this method of creating the product was very effective as it meant that I knew exactly where all aspects of the page were going to be before they were placed within the page, therefore the rest of the production could be focused on the actual design of the page. Once I had all of the content boxes in place I started with the copy, I placed in the written work I had already produced into their relevant content boxes as I had done with the last page layout and went on to chose a different font which I selected from my copy development. The font that I chose for this particular broadsheet was slightly more modern compared to the one I had used in the previous layout, I think it is simplistic and gives a slightly more informal look to the body of copy, making the text seem more reader friendly. After I had applied the font and adjusted the size of the font accordingly I then applied the drop capital effect, using the same technique as I had done with the previous layout, to the first character of the article again as I was happy with the effect that it gave the copy, it adds some aesthetical interest and depth, ultimately making the page seem more attractive to the audience. I decided that I would include a pull quite within this layout too as I like how it helps to break up the text, add some interest to the page as a whole and can be used as a way to draw readers into reading the story. I used the same quote as I had before because I think that it is very relevant to the story, is short enough to be eye-catching to the viewer and is appealing to the audience within its content, this means that if someone reads the pull quote and finds it interesting, they will find the rest of the article interesting too, and I think that this quote achieves this effect well. Instead of placing the pull quote within one column between two paragraphs like I had done in my previous layout, I decided that the quote would sit in the middle of two columns with text surrounding it, to create this effect it meant that the quote had to have its own content box which I created with a specific text wrapping that meant the text would wrap around the object shape, which in this case was a square text box. I think that having the text positioned in such a way added to the more informal feel to the copy, created by the font, and also added a different shape to the text, instead of the copy just being aligned with the columns, it moved around the pull quote, making it look more interesting and aesthetically pleasing. After I had finished with this aspect of the copy I then went on to insert the title into the allocated header content box, I kept the font the same as the last broadsheet as I think that the font works well with the task and looks very professional, I was also unable to source an alternative font that worked as well as the Lion King font. The header of this broadsheet spans the whole of the width of the sheet, this makes the title one of the most important aspects of the broadsheet which is why I gave the title a large size and central alignment to the page, I also altered the shape of the font and increased the width to give the illusion that it was being slightly stretched across the page, making it eye-catching which makes it stand out more on the page, making the story seem more urgent. Once I was happy with all aspects of the copy I could then move on to inserting my imagery into place, I included one large image towards the top of the page and one smaller image towards the bottom of the page, this is to make sure that when reading the story the eye has something else to look at rather that just text, it helps break up the text and also anchor the copy. There is no white space within this page and I think that it is a very effective and professional layout, aesthetically it looks interesting and I think it will be appealing to the audience .

Page 9: Task 10

BROADSHEET 3

Page 10: Task 10

For my third and final broadsheet page layout I followed the last idea that I produced. I created a document with the correct dimensions for a broadsheet page within InDesign that had custom guide lines made up of four rows and four columns with a 1cm margin around the whole page, then proceeded to insert my content boxes for the copy and images into the correct place with correspondence to my layout flat plan. I could then use the same production routine I had used to produce my two other broad sheets and start off my inserting my written copy into their columns and apply the correct font and size, the font that I decided to use within this broadsheet is one which is not as formal as the first font I used and not as informal as the second font I used, this font is somewhere between the two and I think it helps give a classic feel and look to the copy, and because of the fact that the font was very clear, it meant that the font did not need to be increased or decreased for legibility or clarity. I again inserted a drop capital on the first letter of the copy as I have been very happy with the effect that this achieves within the page layout. After I was happy with the main body of the copy I inserted a pull quote using the same technique as I had with my pervious design, I created a separate content box for the pull quote itself and made sure that its text wrapping was set so that surrounding text would be wrapped around the object, I particularly liked using this technique as I think that it really helps to create some form of break in the body of text and immediately adds depth to the form of the text. Although this is a good technique to use, I do not think that I have used it very well in this case, I think that the quote is positioned too high between the two columns as well as too close to the header, it makes the page look like all of the text has been bunched together and does not create a balanced feel of flow throughout the page. If I had placed the pull out in the column within the rest of the text, it would have forced the rest of the text down, meaning that there would have been less white space at the end of the story also, however I could have avoided the problem of the white space with the use of an advertisement. When I had moved on from the body of copy I went on to insert my title into the content box for where I wanted the header to be within the page, I had quite a large space (three units x two units) so spread the text over three lines and had the font quite large, I think this is an opportunity for the title itself to make an impact of the audience, the fact that the title is a pun also becomes more apparent with its positioning, especially since it is situated in eye level of the page. I have also included a cross header within this page layout, I think that it adds more detail to the title and helps to quickly tell the reader what the story is about, as because the title is more of a pun it does not achieve this on its own. The font that I used for the cross header was a classic, simplistic, yet bold, font that was extremely easily read, I ensured that it was a clear font as I was going to have the cross header much smaller than the header, therefore it would need to be just as clear but not as bold as the title. After I had finished with the header and cross header I could then move on to the image that I was going to use for my broadsheet, I had only included one image within this layout, however I had I covering three units so it was a large image which would be in proportion with the amount of text that was being included within the rest of the page. The image that I used was a busy image in full colour which included both the victim in the story, and the villain, therefore it anchored the text well, was relevant to the story and was bold, also due to the fact that the image is positioned above the header it almost looks as though the header is a caption for the image, which connects them together and makes the two look very bold on the page together, making the page as a whole look very interesting. I am very happy with this particular layout, however do think that the amount of white space towards the far right is distracting and creates a feel of unbalance within the page, I could have rectified this with an advert or some information on the writer of the article if I had enough time, however I do not have any time spare.

Page 11: Task 10

TABLOID 1

Page 12: Task 10

Before thinking about the design aspects of creating my first tabloid layout I had to re-write an extract from my broadsheet article to make it more appealing to the tabloid audience. I too the opening paragraph to my broadsheet article and changed the wording of some of the sentences to make the language more formal, as formal language is usually found within tabloid newspapers. After I had changed the copy to fit the audience I was then able to start thinking about creating my spread; when creating my first tabloid page layout I decided to follow the first layout flat plan, which was created by looking at current tabloid newspapers so that I could clearly see how usual tabloids are laid out. I started creating my first layout by using the process that I used to produce all of my broadsheet layouts within InDesign as I found this way to be very time effective as well as simplifying the process in general. I opened a new A4 document and changed the margin to 1cm then once this had opened I changed the grids so that I was using six rows and three columns as guides to create my page. After this I then went on to insert all of the different content boxes in the correct place for the images and text that I was going to be including within my spread, I found that I did have to alter the original layout that I created in my flat plans in order to ensure that the page looked balanced and organized, such as adding the tabloid masthead as well as the title to the story instead of just having one header to the page. After I had created the layout to my page I then started to work on the design on the spread, I decided that I would first create a page with a reverse background, meaning that the background would be black and the copy would be white. I created this effect by simply creating a content box covering the whole page and changing the colour to black, ensuring that the arrangement of the box was sent to the back of all of the other aspects of the page. I then went on to chose a font from the ones which I had sourced when developing my copy and inserted my re-written broadsheet extract into its allocated content box within the columns on the page page making sure that the font colour was set to white so that It would be visible on the black reverse background. The font that I chose for this particular page was a simplistic, legible font with no irregularities to it, I needed this to be a strong foundation when choosing my fonts as within all news stories that are being put across to the audience in written form must be in a clear font in order for al people to be able to read the story clearly. When I had changed the font I then added a drop capital to the beginning of the extract, I think that this is a very good way to make the beginning of the story look eye-catching and will draw people in to read the copy. Due to the fact that the copy was only a small extract, this meant that there was no need to insert a pull quote or any other aspect to the copy as there was no need to break up the text as the text : image ratio is so small, which is a regularity within the front page of a tabloid. I then went on to insert the title of the story, the only change of this aspect of the page is the font, in comparison to the broadsheet this font is very bold, big and, for want of a better phrase, ‘in your face’. This is the way in which most tabloids communicate their story to their readers, a short, punchy title will also help when partnered with this. After this I inserted the official mast head for the ‘Mirror’, to make the page seem more realistic, I also added some small adverts for other stories included within the tabloid as this is what is usually found on the front page of all current tabloids. I made sure that everything was in line with the grids and margins. I inserted an image which was relevant to the story, eye-catching and attractive to my audience, into the specific place that I had allocated for the image to be, however because the image that I had sourced was not visually informative enough, I added two smaller images to help illustrate the story more, I think that this makes the page as a whole look more interesting and balanced.

Page 13: Task 10

TABLOID 2

Page 14: Task 10

I went on to create the second of my three layouts based on the flat plans that I had produced for a tabloid newspaper. The process that I was planning to use to produce this spread was the same as all of the other layouts that I have created using the program InDesign, meaning that I opened a new A4 document, and after changing the guides so that I was working with three columns and four rows, I could insert my content boxes so that I had an outline for where all of the different aspects of the page would be going before I inserted them into the spread. Once I had all of the context boxed in place in correlation with the flat plan that I had created I could then start to insert the copy into its two specific columns, I then needed to chose a font out of the ones that I had sourced when developing my copy. The font that I had chosen for this specific page was very curved and slim, making the whole body of text look much more sleek and modern, this would hopefully give a more appealing look to the page as a whole therefore making the product more appealing to its target audience. Once I had applied this font to the body of text I then added a drop capital to the first letter of the extract as I think that it works really well in order to draw the audience into the piece of writing, also as I have said about the previous layout, there is no need for a pull out quote due to the fact that the extract is so small and therefore there is no need for the text to be broken up, however this also means that there it is more likely for the text itself not to look very appealing; this is where the drop capital comes in handy. After I was happy with the look of the copy I moved onto the titling of the text, I really liked the reverse colours that I used within the previous design for my tabloid as I think that it made the text seem much more bold due to the contrast in the colours. I used the same font as before also because I think that it is very effective to be used for a tabloid as it is bold and punchy, after I had inserted the text into the content box I then changed the box’s colour to black then changed the copy’s colour to white in order for it to be read on the background. I think that using this reverse technique is very effective and fits in well with the ethos of a tabloid. After I was happy with the title I could then add all of the imagery to my page. I first inserted the same mast head that I had used in the previous design that I created as I think that it aided very much in making the product seem more realistic and professional, I also sourced an advert for the left hand side of the page which was in the style of tabloid adverts so that it would fit in with the theme of the page. After I had added these graphics I could then go on to insert the splash image into its correct placing within the spread, which in this case was towards the bottom left hand corner. Once I had all of the different aspects of the page in place I started to nudge everything in place to make sure that they were all in line with the guides and margins that I had put in place so that the page would look balanced and orderly, this would also mean that the page would flow better and be easier to read for the audience, I think my page layout achieves this to a high standard and I think for a second attempt at creating a tabloid style page I have done well. I think that when creating my next page layout I will be able to explore more aspects of how to potentially layout a tabloid page. (The advert to the left has become pixelated due to its file format (jpeg), it was not initially pixelated and was a high resolution image)

Page 15: Task 10

TABLOID 3

Page 16: Task 10

With my third and final layout design for a tabloid newspaper I followed the third flat plan that I produced when developing my ideas. I found this particular layout to be quite boring when I was visualizing what the page would look like finished from my flat plans, but I decided that I would follow the flat plan as I had done when producing all of my other pages because I found the process to be very effective. First I created an A4 page within InDesign with a 1cm margin as I had done before, once the document had opened I was then able to go to change the guides so that there were four columns and five rows for me to work within, I estimated that this combination would work well in correlation within the flat plan that I had produced for this particular design. After this point I then used the same technique as I had throughout the whole of this task to create my page; I started off by inserting the copy body into its specific unit, which in this case was the far left single column. After this I could then chose a font out of the five I had sourced, the font that I chose in the end was more traditional that the font that I used in my previous page layout, and I think this makes the page look more classic, as if it were for a more traditional tabloid like the Daily Express rather than the Sun for example. I created a drop capital at the beginning of the body of text for the same reasons that I have specified within the last two spreads that I had created, it creates some interest in the text since it is not necessary to include a pull out quote within the front page and therefore the drop capital is a good way to draw the audience into the copy. After I was happy with the way in which the main body of text was looking I could then move onto creating the title for the story, I already had a specific content box allocated for this aspect of my page, and had also decided to use the reverse colours technique to make the title much more bold as I had done in my previous design. I typed in the title and changed the background of the text to black and the copy to white. Once I had altered the size of the title to fit into the content box with balance I was then able to move onto adding graphics and imagery into the spread that I was creating. I started off by sourcing a footer advert which would be suitable to use for the front of my tabloid and was lucky enough to find one which fitted perfectly into the bottom unit which I had allocated for the footer. After I had placed this into the content box and sized t to stretch the width of the page I then went on to placing in the mast head and another small advert to fill in the left top corner. I decided to find these adverts to fill in the space as after conducting some research into how tabloids usually look I found that a lot of information is packed into one page and that it is all very bold and busy, so decided that in order for my own product to look realistic and professional I would have to insert these adverts too. After I has sourced the correct adverts and placed them into my page whole making sure that they were all in line with the guides and margins that I had created my page was finished. I think that in comparison to my previous designs this particular design is my favorite, I think that the way in which it has been laid out makes it floe very well and means that it would be very appealing to the specific audience.

Page 17: Task 10

LAYOUT 1

Page 18: Task 10

LAYOUT 2

Page 19: Task 10

I started this task by developing my copy and sourcing some photographs that I could use within the spread, as I did this I started to get a feel of how I wanted to aesthetically design my fanzine page layout. I started my first layout by opening a new blank document within the program InDesign and creating an A4 double page spread with a 1cm margin, I then created a guide of two rows and two columns, purely so that I would be able to locate the center of each page because I did not want to feel constricted when creating my fanzine layout as within the brief to this task it states that we are to ‘break the rules’, I therefore decided that I would not have set guides and columns that I would work to. Once I had my very few guides in place I then started by placing a possible background image into the spread, however decided to show that margin so that if any text were to run over the margin then this would be more noticeable, making the look seem more rebellious and therefore fitting in with the fanzine culture as well as the hippie subculture which were my target audience. I found an image which would be very appealing to the hippie sub-culture as the colours were very earthy and the text which was included within the image was very positive, with words such as ‘peace’ and ‘love’, which are very well associated with hippies. I decided that having a plain white margin would not look very effective, therefore placed a large ‘tie-dye’ image which fit the whole spread to the document and made sure that the arrangement was to the very back so that the other image was placed on top of it meaning that the tie-dye was now in the place of the margin. I think that this helped to add a splash of colour to the page and it was very in keeping with the audience as tie-dye clothing has been worn by hippies since the 1960’s. After I had the foundation to the spread finished I then decided to follow the same technique that I had been using to create my other page layouts and insert content boxes for specific aspects of the page, however with the other page layouts I knew exactly where I wanted to place the copy and text due to my flat plans being very final, however with this particular brief there was a lot of room to be creative and artistic, so I was not already aware as to where exactly I would be placing my copy and images, this meant that the layout I have submitted is the result of a lot of movement and shifting of the content boxes that I placed at this point within my production. After I thought I had a layout that would work for the article, I then decided to insert three images out of the ones that I had already sourced, when sourcing the image that I could use to anchor my article I was careful to ensure that they were relevant to the article that I had written and that they would be attractive to my target audience. I think that the three images that I chose to use within this layout work extremely well within this spread, the photographs are portraying marijuana in a positive way, which is what I intended as my article is written from the perspective of a hippie, meaning that stereotypically they are bias towards the legalization of the drug, which is why I ensured that the images I used within the page were positive. The positioning of these images are very different to the page layouts that I have produced within previous tasks, they do not fit to any margins or guides and I have set them on a slight angle, meaning that they would not be in line with the text. One of the images runs over the line of the margins that I put in place, the fact that both of these things have been done on purpose adds to the rebellious feel of the spread, this connects also with the rebellious and controversial nature of the article, as well as the sub-culture itself, and the nature of fanzines in general. I purposefully did this as well to make the spread have a scrapbook feel to it also, I wanted it to look as if it has been hand made by someone, which is usually how fanzines look, I think I have achieved this very well. I have also added a small graphic to the bottom right hand corner, which I thought would look good for the magazine logo, as well as page numbers to make the spread seem more realistic and believable. The fonts that I decided to use also played a large roll in the aesthetic look of my page, the font was called ‘simplicity’ and was a handwriting script, however did not have any abnormal aspects that would have made the writing less legible. I think that the fact that the font

Page 20: Task 10

seems like it is handwritten adds to the idea of the fact that fanzines are written by fans, it also adds a more personal feel to the article and makes the copy seem less daunting, which is important as there is a large amount of text within this article. I decided to break up the large amount of copy into paragraphs using separate text boxes for each one, I also ensured that the text would be easily read by filling the text box with a white, however altered the opacity of the fill to 70% so that the imagery behind it was still visible. I then decided to focus on the title of my article, I had decided on the font ‘Hippie Gypsy’ as it was a hippie designed font and tied in nicely with the other aspects of the page so far, I decided to keep the font colour black as it made the patterns within the font stand out more and meant that aesthetically the title looked very good. I then decided on the title ‘Let’s be blunt’ for my article, I used this as it is a pun and I thought that the irony would draw my audience in, I think that it works very well, however because the font that I had chosen was a download from the internet meant that an apostrophe within the word ‘let’s’ was not available, however I do not think this matters due to the laid back and casual theme of the page. The page was then finished, I think that this page works very well, and will appeal to an older generation of hippies due to the natural earthy tones and the less obvious ‘hipster’ theme of the spread. As a fanzine I think that the product would be very effective within the fanzine industry. When it came to creating my second page layout I had already got a good feel for how an effective fanzine would be laid out and I had started to understand how to use InDesign to create a double page spread. I decided to use a different mix of background images, fonts and layout to create a layout which would attract a more modern generation of hippies as I thought that the article itself would interest the new generation more than the older one, however is still applicable to both. I started by choosing an image that would be used for the main background, and using the same effective guides and margins as was used within the previous spread that I created, I placed the background image into the page. I chose an image that had lighter colours and included a sketch of a hippie woman and hippie ‘peace’ signs in order to attract the younger generation. I decided again that the white margin did not look right, so sourced a psychedelic image of margin colours to use for the margin and arranged this image behind the initial image, and after changing the opacity of the top image to 70% it gave the background a whole new look which became extremely effective and created the foundation canvas to my second page layout. I went on to insert my images and text boxes, I made sure that the images that I used were very positive again. This time the photographs were more stylish as this seemed to fit the background very well and gave the whole page a more sophisticated and modern look, meaning that it would appeal to the younger target audience. After I had my images in place, which were again offset and on angles over the margins to add emphasis on the rebellious nature of the product and sub-culture, I then focused on the title of my article. I kept the same title as I had before as I thought that it was very effective, however I changed the font. The font that I used tied in very nicely with the background that I had sourced as they both featured the generic peace signs that are associated with the hippie sub-culture. The font was also bold and after adding a thick green stroke to the text, this made the title stand out more as well as coordinating with the other colours that were within the article making the page seem more balanced. I used the same font for the main body of text as I had in my previous layout as it was very effective and made the article clear and legible, li also used the same technique with using white translucent text boxes to make the text stand out better. Overall I believe that this layout is much more effective that my last, as a whole the page is much more bright and clear, aesthetically I think that it is much more attractive as the colour that have been used are much more uplifting and makes the page seem more fresh and new. The fact that I have used the same technique when finding the layout for my copy and images as I had in my previous layout means that again this particular one seems effective and follows the usual fanzine culture. I am very proud with the look of this layout and the level of all my work.

Page 21: Task 10

SUMMARYOverall I think that the products that I have created are of a very good standard and fulfil the set

brief, the layouts all appeal to their specific target audiences and are set out in a specific way to ensure that I have been experimenting with as many different ways to layout articles within a print as possible, this has all helped me to understand how to use such programs as InDesign to create an effective page layout for broadsheets, tabloids and fanzines. Each separate task has helped me to develop new skills and has helped me to be able to constructively criticise my work when comparing it to professional products and layouts.

Within this unit I feel that I have managed my time extremely effectively, I had created a routine to which I created each of my different layouts and I was able to develop ideas, produce, and evaluate some layouts very quickly and effectively. I feel that the skills that I have used have been of a high standard, and I think that if I were to have the change to complete this unit again the first designs that I produced towards the beginning of the unit would have been of a much higher quality as during the beginning of this unit I felt as though the beginning layouts were simply help0ing me to develop my skills within InDesign, and by the end of the unit I feeling understand it more, and think that I would be able to create some better layouts for my broadsheet and tabloid.

I believe that I have created some very good work and I have worked well within this unit making sure that all of the work that I have produced is of a high standard.
