How to Get ThereBY AIR Virgin Australia, Qantas and Jetstar service both Hobart and Launceston from Melbourne and Sydney. Virgin Australia operates flights from Brisbane to Hobart, Jetstar operates flights from Brisbane to Hobart and Launceston and Qantas offers flights from Melbourne to Devonport.
Regional Express is the regional carrier servicing Burnie (Wynyard) and King Island from Melbourne. Sharp Airlines offers flights from Wynyard and Launceston to King Island and from Melbourne and Launceston to Flinders Island.

1. MONAThe Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart is a must see. View Australia's largest private art collection and be challenged by some of the thought provoking controversial artwork. (see page 29 for details)
2. Salamanca PlaceBest discovered by foot! Walk around Hobart's waterfront galleries, shops, cafés and restaurants and stroll up Kelly's steps and through historic Battery Point. See Hobart from a local's perspective and don't miss the famous Salamanca Markets held every Saturday from 8am to 3pm (except Christmas Day and Anzac Day).
3. Mt WellingtonDrive to the top of Mount Wellington for stunning panoramic views of Hobart. This is a perfect photo opportunity, take a warm jacket as it can get quite breezy on the top and for most of the year there is snow.
4. Port Arthur Historic SiteOnly an hour and a half drive from Hobart, visit one of the most significant convict sites in the world. Connect with Australia's history and culture through storytelling and interpretation. If you are brave enough be sure to return for the chilling Ghost Tour. (see pages 12, 25 and 32 for details)
5. Bay of FiresThis coastal paradise has over 30 kilometres of white sandy beaches, clear blue waters and the famous orange lichen boulders that gives this region its name. (see pages 14, 24 and 55 for details)
6. World Heritage WildernessExplore World Heritage Wilderness at Cradle Mountain. Walk the circuit around Dove Lake. To really experience the remote wilderness, cruise the majestic Gordon River, departing from Strahan Harbour. (see pages 13, 24, 25, 45 and 55 for details)
7. Cradle to Coast Tasting TrailFrom paddock to plate, farm gates, road stalls and honesty boxes, the North Western Coast has it all when it comes to some of Tasmania's freshest produce. (see page 12 for details)
8. StanleyThis pretty fishing village is home to The Nut, an iconic volcanic plug rising 152 metres above sea level. Take the chair lift up and enjoy views of the town and the North West Coast of Tasmania.
9. Tasmanian DevilsYou can't visit Tasmania without getting up close and personal with one of the state's most prized icons, the Tasmanian Devil. (see pages 30, 45 and 54 for details)
10. Tamar Valley Wine RouteTaste your way along the famous Tamar Valley Wine Route. Visit Jansz, Velo and Josef Chormy wines. With over 32 wineries and most famous for sparkling and Pinot Noir, this is a route best taken out of the drivers seat. (see page 12 for details)
11. Cataract Gorge ReserveMeander along the riverbank boardwalk into the Cataract Gorge in Launceston. Cross over the suspension bridge and take the chairlift ride across the river. For another perspective of the Gorge take a relaxing cruise. (see page 54 for details)
12. Wineglass BayWith it's white sand and turquoise waters; its no wonder so many visitors have Freycinet and Wineglass Bay on their bucket list.
