Our MissionThe Alliance mission is to lead, support and inspire local action

to restore and protect the lands, rivers and streams of the

Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Our VisionWe believe the best restoration results come from building strong

and diverse partnerships among individuals, communities,

businesses and governments across the Chesapeake

watershed. We are working towards a future where the Bay and

its watershed experience improved water quality and habitat

through the committed environmental stewardship of those

who live and work in the Chesapeake region.

Our WorkWith staff in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington

DC, we work in urban, suburban and rural settings throughout

the Chesapeake watershed. We create and deliver innovative

programs that help plant trees and conserve forests, reduce

stormwater pollution, build individual stewardship, support

local governments in their restoration efforts, and create

opportunities to educate and support our many partners in

their environmental work.

connecting people throughProject Clean Stream

More Than A Stream CleanupProject Clean Stream is an annual event that culminates in a unified day of service to the watershed and hundreds of Bay communities. While the initial impact is a cleaner, safer, more beautiful Bay watershed, Project Clean Stream aims deeper to engage volunteers in a meaningful outdoor experience which connects them with local watershed or community groups. These groups help continue to involve and to educate volunteers in the future of our environment beyond the day’s cleanup project.

The Alliance organizes and hosts opportunities for volunteers to spend a few hours outside cleaning trash from streams or otherwise improving their communities.

Project Clean Stream is coordinated by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay with organizational support from non-profit and business partners and finacial support from Dominion Resources, the Perdue Foundation, the State of Maryland, MOMs Organic Market and several other businesses and governments. Corporations also participate by organizing employee volunteers to help at cleanup sites.

For more information about this program, sponsorship opportunities or how to volunteer, please contact:

Joanna Freeman [email protected] 443 949-0575

cleanstream.allianceforthebay.org

In 2015 44,600 volunteers removedover 3,100,000 lbs oftrash from local streamsand rivers throughout the Chesapeake Bay region.

Project Clean Stream supports all 6 Bay states and D.C. with stream andwoodland cleanups.

Tree plantings andinvasive removals area part of many cleanups.

Volunteers expand their Project Clean Stream efforts to schools, parks, and more.
