give to the driver
on real-world
Indian usage?
A. Based on the
Pune data, slightly
less than in typical
European usage
(5-10%) because
of the shorter stop
durations (the
engine would be
‘off’ for less time)
India uses a modified version of
the NEDC cycle that should
reward stop/start systems
(because of the stops)
As well as the benefit to drivers, there is also a
headline fuel consumption / CO2 figure calculated
for each new car from the Indian Driving Cycle-
this figure would benefit from having stop/start.
