Dear Judges:

My name is Taylor Mickle. My senior project is sending packages overseas to a US

Naval Officer in Afghanistan. My senior project had many goals. My big goal was to

send as many packages I could and to raise as much money and supplies. I also set a goal

to help to troops and raise their spirits and remind them of home and give them hope to

make it through the deployment.

The products I came up with are boxes that I filled with things that the troops need and

would help them and make their deployment easier. I wrote my research paper on the

process of enlisting so I could get a feel of what the troops went through to get to where

they are. An obstacle that I came across was trying to get the supplies and funds from my

family and friends that were giving the donations. I also had a set up at my church and it

was also difficult to get my church family to remember the donations they were giving.

But, in the end my family and friends pulled out for me and I raised all the funds and

supplies needed.

My senior project relates to me because I am enlisting in the United States Navy. I have

learned that I like the military and I will still be enlisting. Also, the guy I sent the boxes

to was a Hospital Corpsman which is also what I want to pursue in the Navy. This project

has taught me a lot about the military. I learned how to go about things more efficiently

and how to get a better output.

I believe this project taught me the things I needed before enlisting and allowing me to

see how life is before I enlisted. I see this project as a very successful and fulfilling

experience. Thank You for being here and volunteering your time.
