Trimble Business Center Local Site Setup
Using a Given Scale Factor This document illustrates the process of manual data point entry into Trimble Business Center (TBC)
software for a Local Site Setup when using a given scale factor to upload into Survey Controller or
Trimble Access Software.
Trimble Business Center Software Configuration: Once the Trimble Business Center (TBC)
software is open…
• Open the Project menu
• Select Site Settings menu
option
• Enter your Local Site
Ground Scale Factor in the
Local Site Setting window

Adding Points: After TBC has been configured for the local site ground scale, the software is ready to
have point data added…
Entering Point Data
Manually:
• Open the Point menu
• Select Create Point
• Enter Point Information in
the Create Point window
- Point ID
- Layer
- Feature Code
- Coordinates
• Select Add
Preparing Data for Export: Once all desired point data has been entered into TBC, you are now
ready to format your data for upload into either Survey Controller or Trimble Access…
• Open the File menu
• Select Export
• Select the Survey tab, in
the Export window
• Select Survey Controller
(for example) job file
exporter
• Open the Options menu
and choose Select All
• Assign the directory you
want to export your job
file to and change the
name of the file if needed
• Choose the version of Survey Controller/Trimble Access Software loaded on your data collector
• Click Export
User Notes: There are two
ways to add point data to the
map… You can perform an
import of a .CSV file that
contains the coordinates of
your point data or you can
enter in each point
individually…

Uploading Data into Survey Controller/Trimble Access: After the point data has been
formatted into the correct version of Survey Controller or Trimble Access, you are now ready to perform
the upload…
• Open the View menu
• Select Device Pane
• Highlight Survey
Controller in the Devices:
Direct Connection window
• Select Upload
You should now be able to open
the job file you have uploaded
into Survey Controller and head
out to the project site.
