Remain in good academic standing with their institution of higher learning and act as a respectful representative of the program throughout their year of service Attend the fall TCA leadership summit in Austin, TX Identify a campus and/or community member to serve as an official mentor during the year of service Mentors will be required to submit mentorship agreements Participate in quarterly mentor/ambassador meetings Project idea and action plan submissions Bi-monthly phone calls with New Politics Forum staff Bi-monthly video calls with committees Fall and spring reflections and program surveys Students selected to participate in the Texas Civic Ambassadors program must: TCA Event Schedule: Ambassadors will be expected to attend at least two of the following events. Housing and travel stipends will be provided for required events. August 13 – 16, 2020 TCA Leadership Summit - a statewide convening of ambassadors at the University of Texas at Austin. (Required) September 24-26, 2020 Texas Tribune Festival- a weekend of debate and dialogue featuring the biggest names in politics and policy. October 2020 Thought Conference - fall event centered around a unique theme in politics, civic engagement, and community participation. March 2021 Great Conversations - an annual fundraising dinner that brings together state and local community leaders for a stimulating conversation on topics relevant to civic life. May 2021 Campaign Bootcamp- a 3-day nonpartisan training in which campaign operatives teach sessions on modern campaign techniques and share tools and strategies needed to manage or work on political campaigns. (Required)
