ABOUT THE TCF CENTER TCF Center is the 17th largest convention center in the United States. Built by the City of Detroit, it was originally opened in 1960 and named Cobo Hall in honor of former Detroit Mayor Albert E. Cobo (1950-1957). In 2009 the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority (DRCFA) was established by the state of Michigan and leased the facility from the City of Detroit to own and operate it for 33 years. The five-member Authority Board consists of one representative from each of five government agencies – the City of Detroit, State of Michigan and the three metro-Detroit counties of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb. In October 2010, the DRCFA awarded the contract for operations management of the facility to ASM Global, the world leader in venue management, marketing, and development, who rebranded it Cobo Center, and revived the business to its current world class status. In 2019, the DRCFA awarded venue naming rights to TCF Bank. Today, TCF Center hosts conferences, conventions and tradeshows bringing 1.5 million visitors a year from across the globe to Detroit. TCF Center facts:

• The Grand Riverview Ballroom is 40,000 square feet with floor-to-ceiling views of the Detroit Riverfront. • The Ballroom has a 3,500 theater seating capacity, 2,250 banquet-seating capacity, or 4,500 reception style capacity. • Over 200,000 square feet of flex space throughout the Center. • 723,000 square feet of exhibit space. • More robust technology, with free WiFi and enough connectivity for 30,000 simultaneous users. • Spectacular outdoor video walls that are three times as large as conventional billboards.

Grand River Ballroom

The 40,000-square-foot ballroom is dividable with a retractable wall and complemented by glass-enclosed, pre-function space and an open-air terrace overlooking the Detroit River and the skyline of Windsor, Ontario. The Grand Riverview Ballroom has a 3,500 theater seating capacity, 2,250 banquet-seating capacity, or 4,500 reception style capacity. Used for banquets, weddings, award ceremonies, dinners, political conventions, media presentations, and a myriad of other functions, the Grand Riverview Ballroom undoubtedly enhances the events it hosts. TCF Center Square

The 24,000-square-foot outdoor space can be used for exhibits, exercise, yoga, biergartens, and other programming designed to connect TCF Center to the community and the downtown Detroit culture. • Inside, TCF Center, Centerplate Food Service delights with an exceponal array of Detroit and local iconic brands, including: Beter Made Potato Chips (made here since 1930), Dearborn Sausage (since 1946), Faygo Beverages (since 1907 and sll botled on Graot Avenue), Vernors Ginger Soda (since 1866), Great Lakes Coffee Roasng Co. and newcomers Slows Bar BQ and Brown Dog Creamery.

• All four of Detroit’s professional sports teams are located within blocks of each other in our Stadium District: Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, and Litle Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons.

• Within that footprint, the Theatre District showcases The Fox Theatre, The Filmore, Litle Caesars Arena Concert Venue, Detroit Opera House, The Gem Theatre, Music Hall, and Masonic Temple.

• In the shadow of the Ambassador Bridge are Southwest Detroit and Mexicantown, Detroit’s thriving Hispanic community. With popular eateries along the neighborhood’s main street, it is the place to find authenc Mexican cuisine.

• The RiverWalk, which you can see from just about any window at the TCF Center, is a 3.5- mile stretch along the river’s edge. Join in on a bicycle ride, a guided tour, a run or walk, or a boat tour, and explore a bustling part of Detroit’s comeback.

• Corktown is Detroit’s oldest neighborhood and the former home to Detroit’s Irish immigrant community, who began setling here and building cotages two decades before the Civil War. 200 of the original 1,000 houses remain today, as well as an amazing group of restaurants with disncve tastes.

• Ford’s Michigan Central Staon was designed by the same architects who created the Grand Central Terminal in New York City and will be given new life by Ford Motor Company, which will transform the historic train depot into a transportaon innovaon district featuring shops, restaurants, performance spaces, and a bouque hotel.
