Background and Purpose

• The electric power industry has a strong demand for skilled labour.

• Very male-dominated industry.• Half of the workforce in general is female.• How can we increase the number of women to both get

more equal workplace while gaining a broader recruitment base for the industry's needs?

• We decided to do a survey among women who started technical school during the years 1994 to 2005.

Some results and conclusions of the study

• 60% of respondents working in technical professions today, 40% work in other sectors or studying.

• Women working in technical careers are often alone in their workplaces and asks for networks / forums for women

• More female role models!

• The role of the career conselor is important!
