in 2016. Volunteers, sponsors, partners and patrons have contributed to its success. We’ve initiated following chang-

es in 2017 to better serve our sponsors and patrons:

Interns and essential operational services. Annual sponsorship commitments help promote and develop a world class

festival highlighting local creative community members. Help us re-build the festival at Riverwalk.

Larnell Lewis & Joy LappsThursday August 17th at Old Town Hall

Toronto native Larnell Lewis is a musician, composer, producer, educator and clinician. One of Canada’s most promising up-and-coming drummers, Lewis has garnered international status with his most recent works with the three-time Grammy Award winning band, Snarky Puppy. He is a part-time music professor at Humber College, has been featured on the cover of Modern Drummer (September 2016), and has performed with such artists as Fred Hammond, Lalah Hathaway, Lisa Fischer, and Laila Biali. Larnell is excited to present his latest project, an ensemble of some of Toronto's best musicians playing compositions from his upcoming debut album, In The Moment. This project explores Larnell's deep connection to jazz, fusion, and his Afro-Caribbean roots.

Joy Lapps affectionately known as the Princess of Pan is a Toronto-based musician, composer and arts educator. Her efficiency with the tenor pan and diverse performance range have led to great audience receptions and flattering recognition from seasoned professional pannists. Joy performs primarily with her jazz trio and often expands this formation to a quartet or to an even larger musical ensemble exploring Afro and Latin-Caribbean Jazz, with a hint of R&B and soul.

was Twice nominated for Canadian Juno awards in Best R&B/Soul and “A Lot of Livin’ To Do” his live big band jazz

album is well received internationally. A consummate entertainer, giving stellar performances in Broadway musicals

including: “The Lion King,”; Sammy Davis Jr. in “The Rat Pack”; Soul to Soul and Once On This Island… George also

founded the Motown Boys, the Love Train Revue Show; the Sounds of Motown; and co-founded/managed the Aurora

jazz+ and the Newmarket jazz+ Festivals supporting his community, local charities and artists. The George St. Kitts

Band is the band of choice for the 2016 and 2017 Canadian Screen Actors Awards Show; the Ambi Gala and many

other prestigious annual events.
