1 Overview

1.1 Background

Owing to the complicated radio network environment and the demands of frequent capacity expansion and upgrading, LTE network optimization becomes a core routine of operators. Therefore, network optimization personnel need to use a set of auxiliary tools to evaluate, analyze and diagnose the network and work out the corresponding optimization plans. In this circumstance, ZTE develops TD-LTE radio network optimization test software ZXPOS CNT (TD-LTE Edition) to meet the demands of network optimization.

1.2 Product Composition

ZXPOS CNT (TD-LTE Edition) contains the following application programs:

ZXPOS CNT (TD-LTE Edition) (The main program of TD-LTE wireless network test software).

Micro Dog Install Driver.

CNT Dog Upgrade Client.

1.3 Features

ZXPOS CNT (TD-LTE Edition) mainly supports the following features:

Autonomous developed UE and Qualcomm data card.

All GPS that comply with NMEA standards and use the RS-232 communication interface or USE interface. Complete detection and configuration of GPS quickly and intelligently.

Acquire GPS location data quickly and adequately; besides, possess strong geographic display functions (e.g. dynamic rendering test parameters, iconified displaying call events and drawing connection of adjacent areas in real time.)

Convenient indoor test functions: predefining path and path modifying.

Detection and automatic recovery of link fault of COM interface, and alarm for insufficient battery capacity or storage space, unlocated GPS, call drop of cell phone and check error of serial port CRC; besides, alarm for parameters definition of testing items.

3.2 CNT Working Mode

There are two working modes of CNT, namely drive test (DT) mode and playback mode.

DT mode: CNT connects with test terminal. The software interface will display radio parameters that are extracted from the test terminal.

Playback mode: CNT does not connect with test terminal. The software interface will display radio parameters that are extracted from the APT files.

3.3 Equipment Configuration under Test Mode

3.3.1 DT Mode Selection

Figure 3-9 Port Configuration : DT mode selection

The DT mode can be classified into indoor and outdoor modes. The indoor DT is described in 3.11.

3.3.2 Hardware Configuration

Hardware connection

Connect the LTE UE with computer by Ethernet cable.

Start LMT software and set related options (described in LMT User Guide).

Connect the GPS with computer by data cable.

Insert USB dog for CNT into the computer and install the driver if the dog is used for the first time.

Hardware detection

Click the on the upper left corner in Figure 3-9, then the dialog box in Error:Reference source not found pops up. The CNT (TD-LTE Edition) only supports two devices, namely LMT UE and GPS.

Figure 3-10 Add Device dialogue box

Page 20: Td-lte Zxpos Cnt User Guide(r1.0)
