Overview

Time flies so fast sometimes. In the blink of an eye, almost half the year had past us by. In these few months, there were, in fact, some minor changes in the company.

Changes

There were some changes made to the organisation’s structure. Leong Hon Voon is now the ASEAN Quote Desk and Asia Sales Manager. Chin Fook Kwong had been transferred to Technical Support department, while Michelle Seow is now transferred to Finance department. Their jobscope and duties remain the same nonetheless.

Speaking of changes, we are sad that Casey Rivera (Tech Support Manager APAC), Anthony Rixon (Channel Sales Manager ANZ) , Jelyn Neo (Senior Marketing Executive) and Yayoi Arai (Finance in Japan) had left the company for greener pastures. We only hope the best for them.

New Employees

In the last few months, we had a few new colleagues. Simon Alford came into the company as our Tech Support Manager for APAC & MDE, Jephew Ho had joined us as the new Finance Manager, and shortly after, Candy Leong came in as the Accountant. They are both based in Singapore. Kanako Sakata joined us recently as Finance in TD Japan.

More About the New Employees

Simon Alford is an Australian, with 18 yearsof Technical Support professional experience in IT. He had even worked in Japan for 7years.

Jephew Ho is a Malaysian married with 2 children and presently based in Singapore. Jephew started her public accounting profession as an auditor more than 5 years. Her past employers including KPMG andother MNCs. Prior to joining Tandberg, Jephew was a Group Accounts Manager of a luxury retail business.

Candy Leong is also a Malaysian, and had been living in Singapore for about 10 years now. She has a total of 6 years experiencein accounting. Candy enjoys watching movies and drama and is interested in hairstyling.

Kanako Sakata likes nature very much, and enjoys trekking and mountain climbing. Her biggest challenge was to overcome Mt Yari, which took three days to trek, but was an impressive experience for her. Perhaps she can share her trekking photos with us in future.

Last April, our colleague, Saif, just had a new family member. His wife had given birth to a beautiful baby boy weighing 2.9kg. The handsome bundle of joy is named Abu Bakar. Congratulations to both Mr & Mrs Saifanalli Shaikh!

Message From The Vice President

As you know this news letter is not so much about our business but about our people. I hope it helps us all remember that we are people before we are Employees. Sometimes it is helpful to think of our colleagues as mothers, fathers, wives and husbands. If we do that, it may change the way we think about each other.

First, we can remember that the reasons we are here is to ensure that we are able to fund our personal lives and in many cases, provide for our families. We all have similar aims, and by working together as a team , we help each other not just in the work place, but outside of it too! If we work to support each other, we will all benefit from it. Also, it helps us to remember than when a colleague seems to let us down, it is not intentional. We are all thinly stretched and trying our best, and as long as we know our colleagues are putting in the same effort as ourselves, we should be understanding when and if they don't deliver everything we require. We are a small team and an evolving team, supporting a business that is once again growing. I admire many of you and am thankful for the efforts you put in, but I never forget that for all of us, the most important thing is life outside of the workplace.

This Newsletter reminds us of that and also shows us (for example with Matsu's broken umbrella – see pictures on the last page) it is also okay to have fun in the workplace from time to time!
