Prime Minister, Shri
Narendra Modi today said,
communication will be
more effective if we ‘accept’
instead of ‘expect’ and
‘discuss’ instead of
‘dismiss’. Sharing his
thoughts in the 50th
episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’
programme on All India
Radio today, Shri Modi
said, his effort is to have a
continuous dialogue with
the youth in various
programmes or through
social media. He said, he
tries to share the efforts
and achievements of the
youth as much as possible
through the programme.
Saying that radio is the
most effective medium of
communication, the Prime
Minister said, in terms of

been incomparable. He
said, when he took charge
as the Pradhan Sevak in
2014, it was his wish to
reach out to the masses
with the great storyof India.
Shri Modi said, a survey
conducted by All India
Radio says that most of the
people believe that the
greatest contribution of
‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been
the enhancement of feeling
of positivity in society. He
said, the medium of ‘Mann

many mass movements.
The Prime Minister said, he
is overjoyed on account of
the fact that through
‘Mann Ki Baat’, radio is
rising as a popular medium,
more than ever before.
Over the past episodes, it
was found that the
programme has remained
apolitical. Shri Modi said,
when ‘Mann Ki Baat’
commenced, he had firmly
decided that it would carry
nothing political, or any
praise for the Government,
or for him. The Prime
Minister asserted that as a
run up to each episode of
‘Mann Ki Baat’, the
expectations and
aspirations of listeners
through their letters, online
comments and phone calls
are taken into account by
him. He said, he may come
and go, but this country
will never let go of its unity
and permanence and our
culture will always be
immortal.
Shri Modi highlighted that
the biggest achievement of
the 50 episodes of ‘Mann
Ki Baat’ is that one feels
like talking to a close
acquaintance and not to
the Prime Minister which
reflects the true democracy.

The process of dealership selection has been simplified in line with the Govt.'s emphasis
on 'Ease of Doing Business', for which user friendly online application has been introduced,
said Shri Dutta adding that the application form has also been simplified and the tedious
process of submitting voluminous documents by the applicants in support of eligibility
has been dispensed with. Only selected candidate would be required to produce the
document while the eligibility norms have also been relaxed. The availability of suitable
land at the advertised location/stretch is the most important requirement and applicants
without land can also apply, however, they are expected to offer land when called for.
Meanwhile, for the first time, computerized 'draw of lots/ bid openings' would be held
under the aegis of an independent agency, to bring in more transparency. All retail outlets
will be constructed with latest technology including automation. Interested entrepreneurs
may see the detailed advertisement and brochure available in the website
www.petrolpumdelaerchayan.in. The GoI through the three Public Sector Oil Companies
have hosted the whole procedure online. The details of the location are also available on
the website. Accordingly, anyone across the country can apply for any location in India,
said Shri Dutta adding that it is expected to generate employment as well as to meet the
growing demand of diesel and petrol.
In the whole of India, the demand for petrol is growing at 8 % and diesel at 4 % pa,
respectively. In A&N Island, the demand for diesel is growing at around 18 % because of
the huge projects being planned here, said Shri Dutta and considering the huge potential
and the demand, IOC has decided to release advertisement for 17 retail outlets viz. between
Chouldari and Port Mout on ATR, between STS Workshop, Diglipur and Govt. Model
School, Sitanagar, Sippighat Jn. to Nayasahar Primary School, from Corbyn beach to
