The process of dealership selection has been simplified in line with the Govt.'s emphasis

on 'Ease of Doing Business', for which user friendly online application has been introduced,

said Shri Dutta adding that the application form has also been simplified and the tedious

process of submitting voluminous documents by the applicants in support of eligibility

has been dispensed with. Only selected candidate would be required to produce the

document while the eligibility norms have also been relaxed. The availability of suitable

land at the advertised location/stretch is the most important requirement and applicants

without land can also apply, however, they are expected to offer land when called for.

Meanwhile, for the first time, computerized 'draw of lots/ bid openings' would be held

under the aegis of an independent agency, to bring in more transparency. All retail outlets

will be constructed with latest technology including automation. Interested entrepreneurs

may see the detailed advertisement and brochure available in the website

www.petrolpumdelaerchayan.in. The GoI through the three Public Sector Oil Companies

have hosted the whole procedure online. The details of the location are also available on

the website. Accordingly, anyone across the country can apply for any location in India,

said Shri Dutta adding that it is expected to generate employment as well as to meet the

growing demand of diesel and petrol.

In the whole of India, the demand for petrol is growing at 8 % and diesel at 4 % pa,

respectively. In A&N Island, the demand for diesel is growing at around 18 % because of

the huge projects being planned here, said Shri Dutta and considering the huge potential

and the demand, IOC has decided to release advertisement for 17 retail outlets viz. between

Chouldari and Port Mout on ATR, between STS Workshop, Diglipur and Govt. Model

School, Sitanagar, Sippighat Jn. to Nayasahar Primary School, from Corbyn beach to

Corbyn Chowk, between Garacharma and Sippighat, between Sabri and Bhakultala,

Rangachang No. 2 near Rose Valley Road, Beodnabad, on Mohanpura to Aberdeen

Village Road, Port Blair, Prothrapur on Bhatubasti-Prothraput- Birdline main road, School

Line, Dhanikhari to Chouldari, Havelock Jetty to Beach No. 3, Havelock, Haddo on

Delanipur Road to Haddo/ Chatham Jetty Main road, on Minnie Bay Jn. to Bhatubasti

Chowk to Hawamahal in N&M Andaman, at Subhasgram village in N&M Andaman and

Kadachakang village in Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman.

Issues pertaining to safety measures during transportation of petrol and diesel in

vehicle ferry, availability of petrol/diesel and its capacity, CSR activities of IOCL, LPG

subsidies etc. were raised by the media persons during the press meet, which were

addressed by Officials of IOCL.
