Entrepreneurship is the ability and readiness to develop, organise and run a business enterprise, along with any of its uncertainties in order to make a profit. Establishing a new business operation is the quintessence of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial vision, with its inherent capacity for discovering business opportunities and taking on risks, is an indispensable part of the Virgin Islands’ capacity to succeed in an ever-changing and more competitive global marketplace. Entrepreneurs are persons who have an ability and desire to establish, administer, and succeed in a start-up venture. They are innovative, and able to replace old ways of doing things with inventions or fresh approaches that appeal to their potential clients. There are different levels of entrepreneurship ranging from small-scale, home-based businesses and on up to multinational corporations. Mr. Faulkner is 29 years old and was born in St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

He grew up travelling with his mom between Florida and Anegada, until the age of 18 when he permanently settled in the British Virgin Islands.

In an interview Kelly said, “I enjoyed so much of the sea life and lifestyle that I decided to brainstorm for an idea to help bring attention to Anegada on a whole and also have a business that I could live and grow from. That business today is Kelly’s Land & Sea Tours. I am also owner of Anegada Concierge and StrongArm Construction. Having a business like Kelly’s Tours allowed attention to the island to expand.” Kelly takes visitors to Anegada gems like the picturesque Conch island.

He says, “My goal in life is to be able to leave behind a legacy and empire with generational wealth and prosperity for my family and fellow Anegadians. My philosophy is that you do not know until you ask! Living today is only preparing you for tomorrow.”

MR. KELWYN “KELLY” FAULKNER

Buy promotional products that directly encourage green behavior. For example, instead of buying branded bottled water in disposable bottles -- a growing trend -- order branded reusable coee mugs or branded reusable water bottles. Not only will you avoid adding to the over 2.5 million plastic water bottles that are used by people in around the world, but your marketing message will be put in front of people's eyes for far longer, as your coee mugs and/or water bottles will be reused.

Over the course of his 11 years in business, Kelly has helped build Anegada as a tourism destination, while contributing to community eorts like Community Clean Up campaigns, food delivery during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, and collaborating with the Rotary Club of Road Town to get laptops for students in need for online learning. He plans to continue to give back to the Anegada Community, with a particular focus on the Sister Island’s youth.
