Dalton is the son of Lance and Shirley Howe. After high school he plans to at-tend SDSU and major in the agriculture field. In school he participates in cross country, basketball, track, NHS, FFA, 4-H and Boy Scouts. Some advice he would give to under-classmen would be, “Don’t waste time because high school flies by and lost time is never found.”

Now that all of us have survived the Thanksgiving Holiday, we look forward to the upcoming Christmas Holiday. The weather will start turning colder, and soon snow will start to fall. Many families are planning where they will get together to celebrate one of the biggest holidays of the year. For some it is

the only time of year they get to see or spend time with family from far away. There are many things for kids to do while the adults are putting the finishing touches on a meal that will fill their stomachs full and time well spent to fill our hearts.

In our house, the younger kids love to go out and play in the snow, while some of the older kids either watch movies or take naps. We have a family tradition of serving prime rib on Christmas Day; this is a meal that takes most the day to prepare, and is worth every amount of time spent making it. One never walks away from our house complaining of not getting enough to eat. Many side dishes are made to go along with the awesome prime rib: anything from cheesy hash brown casserole to deviled eggs are enjoyed by all.

To be able to join, students have to be in grades 9-12 and have a valid state Game Fish and Parks Hunters Safety Course license. Each student must pay $250-$300 before do-nations, sponsors, and scholarships. Students can contact any of the coaches if they would like to join: Head coach- Stefan Schroeder, Asst. coaches- Ryley Curtis, Randy Maddox, and Lynn Brace.

Twelve teams came out to compete in the Dodgeball for Diabetes tournament on November 16. Seventh grader Ma-rie Weller organized the event for her FCCLA project in honor of her brother, Kevin Weller, who has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Kevin is an RHS 5th grade student. About 15% of Americans who have Type 1 diabetes are children, with about 15,000 children be-ing diagnosed each year. Before the games began, Kevin’s grandma read off a
