Remove the printed tag from underneath the base. 2 Connect the handset Find the spiral handset cord. Connect one end of the cord into the base of the handset. Connect the other end into the left side of the base. Simply push in the connectors until you hear a ‘click’. 3 Connect the power cord to the base Find the power cord for the base (it is the larger of the two adapters with the yellow plug tip). Turn the base upside down and connect into the socket marked DC IN (yellow plug into yellow socket connection). Plug the adapter into your wall socket (standard 240V power) and turn on power at the wall. 4 Connect the telephone cord to the base Find the telephone cord. Connect the telephone line by inserting one end into the base at the socket marked TEL LINE. Insert the other end into your standard wall telephone connection. Route both telephone and power cords through the cable holders as shown. 5 Select the country With power on, SELECT COUNTRY appears on the base display. Use Volume buttons to move the selector bar to the option AUSTRALIA, then press OK. The display will turn off briefly and then DATE AND TIME settings will flash; these are set in step 10. 6 Test the connection Pick up the handset from the base. You should hear a dial tone and the display on the base should say TALK. If display says CHECK TEL LINE or you do not hear a dial tone Check the telephone line is properly inserted, both in base and wall socket Try an alternative telephone wall socket If you continue to experience difficulty, contact your local telephone provider If there is a lot of noise or static See page 33 of the Owner’s Manual for tips on avoiding interference When you hear a dial tone, make a quick test call. 7 Install batteries in the cordless handsetRemove the battery cover from the back of the handset by pressing on the notch and sliding the cover down and off.

To connect the battery pack, insert the connector into the jack located inside the handset as shown (the connector will only fit one way). Push until it clicks into place. Tug gently on the wires to make sure the connection is secure.

Place the battery pack into the battery compartment and replace the cover by sliding up and into place. Do not attempt to remove the batteries from the white plastic casing.

8 Connect the power cord to the handset chargerFind the power cord for the charger (it is the smaller of the two adapters with the black plug tip).

Turn the charger upside down and connect into the socket marked DC IN.

Plug the adapter into your wall socket (standard 240V power) and turn on power at the wall.

Place the cordless handset into the charger cradle. The display should illuminate and a battery icon will animate to indicate the handset is charging.

Charge the handset for at least 15 hours before initial use.

If the handset does not charge

Remove and replace the handset, ensuring it is properly seated in the cradle

Check the power adapter connection. Make sure power is switched on at the wall

9 Test the handset connectionPick up the handset and press TALK. You should hear a dial tone, and the handset display should say tAlK.

Press END to hang up, or place the handset in the charger.

If you cannot get a dial tone

or the handset display says unAvAIlAble

Move the handset closer to the telephone base

Try resetting the handset (see page 35 of the Owner’s Manual)

10 Setting the day and timeSetting the date and time on the base or any handset will set it on all handsets/bases.

On the Base, press MENU to open the menu screen.

Use buttons to move the selector bar down to DAte & tIme. Press OK again to confirm your selection.

Use Volume buttons or telephone keypad to choose the date and time. Use Volume buttons to select Am or Pm, and press OK to confirm your selection. This returns you to the Date & Time menu.

As an example of using the telephone keypad (to enter the date, hour and minutes: to enter 27 February 2013 - 5:35pm, press on keypad ‘2’, then ‘7’, then ‘0’ and ‘2’ (for February), then ‘1’ and ‘3’ (for the year), then ‘0’, then ‘5’, then ‘3’ then ‘5’ then and OK).

Press to exit the menu screen, or pick up and return the handset.

2 adjusting the volumeTo adjust the ringer volume

With the handset in the cradle, press the Volume buttons to scroll through volume settings

The display will show off, low, meDIum or hIghTo adjust the earpiece volume

When the phone is in use, press the Volume buttons

3 Using the audio boostYou can increase volume in the earpiece for normal calls and intercom calls.

During a call, press BOOST to increase the audio volume. While audio boost is on, “ “ appears in the display. Press BOOST again to turn off.

4 adjusting the visual ringerThe visual ringer switch is located on the side of the base (above the cradle). Use this switch to change the brightness of the visual ringer on both base and handset.

Slide the switch so the centre lines up with the preferred brightness option (HIgH, LOw or Off).

Changing the visual ringer does not affect the audio ringer volume.

5 Using the do not disturb (dnd) functionThe do not disturb function turns off the audio ringers for the base and any connected handsets. It does not affect the visual ringers.

To activate, press and hold (for at least 2 seconds) the DND button on the base.

The display shows DnD moDe on on both base and handset stations.

While Do Not Disturb is active, the phone automatically turns on the answering system.

To cancel, press the DND button again.

6 Using the answering systemonly one handset or the base can access the answering system at a time.

Record your own message

1 With the handset cradled, press MENU to open the menu screen

2 Press the Volume buttons to move the selector bar to AnSwerIng SetuP Press OK again to confirm your selection

3 Press the Volume buttons to move the selector bar to recorD greetIng Press OK to confirm your selection The display will show to StArt, PreSS (oK): Press OK to start Your message may be up to 30 seconds long

4 When finished, press OK. The system plays back your new message

To re-record the message, go back to step 3

5 Press twice to exit the menu screen (or wait 30 seconds)Turn the answering machine on/off

Delete a message

While the message is playing, press DELETE

Play old messages

Once all new messages have been played, press again to access old messages

5 Finding a lost handsetOn the telephone base, press INTERCOM/HOLD.

On the Display, use the buttons to select the station wish to find, or All to select all handsets.

The handsets will beep until answered.

To stop paging

From the base, press INTERCOM/HOLD again.

From the handset, press END/CLEAR.
