To create a Lesson Plan:
First make sure you select the Lesson Planner module which should be the second one on your screen:
Next select the category based on the grade level and subject matter that you’re teaching.
For K-‐6 you will find ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Challenge and Support in the template called Grade (K-‐6) Standards. The Science standards are in their own template. PLTW will fill in their Lesson Plan by accessing the grade level science standards not just the grade level standards.
For Grade 7-‐8 and 9-‐12 you will find the subjects each have their own template based on the grade level. Some subject areas cover multiple grades. You will type in your area of concentration on each template so the review will know what subject you are writing for.
For those teaching Arts, Health/PE and CTE classes, you will find your template in the SPECIALISTS category for ALL grades. You will type in your area of concentration on each template so the review will know what subject you are writing for.
Now click the button at the top of the right hand box.
Now select the template you will be using:
Then click in the box that pops up to begin filling out the Lesson Planner form.
Start by selecting the date of the lesson (since each form is for one lesson, your start date for Monday’s ELA Lesson should be Monday, December 19, 2016. You must also use the same date to end the lesson Monday, December 19, 2016. This will constitute one lesson for Monday, December 19th in the area of ELA.
Type in the note fields and check off the standards following the instructions on the form.
If you would like a definition and more information on the standards, click the button to open up the full documentation for that subject and
grade level in another tab.
Once you’ve completed your form, scroll down to the bottom and click the checkbox next to your name to mark the form as complete.
Enter your login password then click to mark the form as complete.
The last step is to click the save and done tab located on the top control bar.
Your administrator will be able to view your lesson plans and thus send you a review form indicating the strengths and areas needing improvement if applicable.
To view and sign off on the lesson plan review:
This time, select the final category which is called “Review”
Click the “Walkthrough Name” of the form to open it up and view.
NOTE: If you see the error message “‘ (principal name) has not given you access to view and/or use this observation.” it means that the lesson plan has not yet been completed and cannot yet be viewed.”
