Authored by Marco Caceres, Teal Group's World Space SystemsBriefing is a monthly-updated information service consisting ofreports that track the status and outlook of the world's space systems, spaceports and markets. Each program report includes informationdescribing the space system, designating the agency responsible fordevelopment or operation of the system, an explanation of thevarious subsystems and the companies involved in supplying thecomponents (primes as well as subcontractors), an overview giving abrief history and current status of the program, and, finally, a 10-yearlaunch forecast is included, along with a "Teal Group Evaluation" ofthe program. The spaceport reports are structured similarly.

The reports are organized in sections by type (e.g., Launch Vehicles,Payloads) and within sections, alphabetically by system or facility. TheWorld Space Systems Briefing covers a large portion of the world'sspace systems and launch facilities. The focus of the publication, how-ever, is on active programs or those that are in their early planning ordevelopment stages. The underlying philosophy behind the reportsis to target future business opportunities and not dwell too much onhistory. The World Space Systems Briefing is neither a "spacedirectory" nor "space encyclopedia."

Each report is updated at least once per year. In addition, if aprogram is particularly active, the report may be updated numeroustimes during the course of the year. The date of each report isindicated at the bottom of every page.

The updated reports are mailed to you in 12 monthly supplementsduring a year-long subscription period. Authored by Dr. David Rockwell, Teal Group's Military ElectronicsBriefing is a monthly updated marketing information service reportingon the status and outlook of the major active US military electronicsprograms. The annual subscription includes a binder of reports onthese programs, a year of monthly updates and free access to theanalysts that research and edit the reports.

To be included in the binder, an electronics program must be eitherunder development or in production for a US requirement, or in theactive USmilitary inventory and garnering significant upgrade or supportfunding. The number of reports that fall under these requirementsand that, therefore, will be covered in a report in the binder will varyover time, but the total quantity will be around 300.

Each program has an individual report that is periodically updated toreflect the most recent activities. Reports are added to the binderwhen new programs emerge; conversely, a program's report isremoved when it is cancelled, production is completed or aftermarketfunding (upgrade and support) dries up.

Each month you will receive a supplement of updated material. Thismay include reports, appendices or other sections of the binder. Aninstruction letter is included with each supplement indicating wherethe new material should be put in the binder.

You may find it helpful to retain much of the material that is removedfrom the binder in a separate area. This includes reports on programsbeing removed from the binder and outdated appendixes.

An important part of the service is the ability to talk directly with theanalysts that research and write the reports in theMilitary ElectronicsBriefing binder. We call this the "Free Right of Inquiry." If you have aquestion on any aspect of a program covered in the service, simplycall the number shown on the title page of the binder. You then canconsult with the analyst(s) for a reasonable amount of time at nocharge. If the question will take a considerable amount of timeto answer (more than an hour of research), a consulting fee willbe charged.
