What is this all about?Everything we do involves math!
Perimeter
Area
Volume
Probability
![Page 3: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
What is Perimeter? The total length
of all sides of an object!
A fence around a yard!
![Page 4: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
What is Area?Area is the size of a surface
Example: All the grass within the yard! These shapes all have the same area of 9:
![Page 5: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Area
It helps to imagine how much paint would cover the shape.
![Page 6: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Why are Perimeter and Area Relevant to Student Learning?
Occupations such as architects, engineers, and graphic designers utilize perimeter and area.
Understanding how much space you have and learning how to fit shapes together exactly will help you when you paint a room, buy a home, remodel a kitchen, or build a deck.
Perimeter and Area provide a foundation for more advanced mathematics found in algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.
![Page 7: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
What is Volume? The amount of 3-dimensional space an object occupies.
Volume = Length × Width × Height
Example: All of the dirt in a yard, or water in a
glass!
![Page 8: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Why do we Need to Learn about Volume?
Without the knowledge of Volume, how would we know whether we had to purchase a gallon or a pint of milk?
Cooking andfilling a gas tank all require the knowledge of Volume!
![Page 9: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
What is Probability?Probability is a measure of the likeliness
that an event will occur. How likely something is to happen. Many events can not be predicted with total
certainty. The best we can say is how likely they are to happen, using the idea of probability.
Probability does not tell us exactly what will happen, it is just a guide.
P(A)=
The Number Of Ways Event A Can Occur The total number Of Possible Outcomes
![Page 10: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Example of ProbabilityThrowing Dice When a single die is
thrown, there are six possible outcomes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
The probability of any one of them is 1/6.
![Page 11: Team a importance of math final presenation](https://reader038.vdocument.in/reader038/viewer/2022100603/5592cbac1a28abc0378b45b5/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
A Probability GameTossing a Coin
When a coin is tossed, there are two possible outcomes:
heads (H) or
tails (T)
The probability of the coin landing H is ½.
The probability of the coin landing T is ½.Let’s toss a coin 100 times, how many times will Heads occur?
Probability states that heads has a ½ chance, so we would expect 50 heads. When you actually try tossing a coin 100 times you might get 48 heads, or 55 heads ... or anything could occur, but in most cases it will be a number near 50.

Why is Learning Probability Important?
Probability is used in gambling, sports, the gaming industry. It is used in weather forecasting, and in scientific research.
The most important use of probability is to help us make decisions as we go through life!

In ConclusionBuilding the skills learned from Math 213. We
expanded our knowledge by finding fun and easy ways to teach the complicated concepts of Probability, Area, Volume, and Perimeter.
In learning these concepts today, we open the doors of our classrooms to educate the young and open minds of the future.
Area, Perimeter, Volume, Measurement, and Probability will take us into a higher understanding of Mathematics.
