Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
“The 4 Words Every Man Needs to Live By”
1 Timothy 6:6-14
1 Timothy 6:6-14
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
1 Timothy 6:6-14
9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
1 Timothy 6:6-1411 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14 to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
#1 FLEE1 Timothy 6:11 “But you, man of God, flee from all this…”
1 Timothy 6:9-109 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

“Sin is what you do when you are not satisfied with God”
- John Piper
Key Point: Avoid temptation. Avoiding sin it will be too late.
QUESTION: –Who / What do I need to FLEE from?
#2 PURSUE1 Timothy 6:1111 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
Philippians 3:10 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death…
Key Point: Pursue the relationship not just the benefits FROM the relationship.
QUESTIONS: –Who / What are you FLEEING
from?–Who / What are you PURSING?
#3 FIGHT1 Timothy 6:11-1211 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Exodus 15:3"The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is His name.
Isaiah 42:1313 The LORD will go forth like a warrior, He will arouse His zeal like a man of war. He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry. He will prevail against His enemies.
2 Corinthians 10:3-53For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
Ephesians 6:10-1310Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. 11Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Where do the battles of this fight take
place?
2 Timothy 2:3-53 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.
KEY POINT: The Christian life is lived in the context of resistance.
QUESTIONS: –Who / What are you FLEEING
from?–Who / What are you PURSING?–Who / What are you FIGHTING
for?
