ABOUT LEISURE NETWORKS For three decades, Leisure Networks has pursued a vision of capable, healthy people and inclusive

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), we provide a range of services including;
Individualised Supports (Monday to Sunday) Programs of Supports (Monday to Sunday) Support Coordination Financial Plan Management Independent Living Solutions
Our disability support programs enable people with a disability to undertake a range of activities
within their community. These include fun, recreation and leisure-based activities, skill
development programs or travel programs across Victoria or interstate.
Our support coordination teams in Geelong, Werribee and Melbourne are working individually
with people to learn about the NDIS and to assist them to implement their new NDIS plan and
funding. Our Financial Plan Management team provide a bill paying service for people with an
NDIS plan and is undertaken by our experienced finance administrators.

Finally, we work directly with many stakeholders including community and regional sporting
bodies, state sporting associations and local governments. Our role is to support the creation of
environments and places that are welcoming, family friendly, accessible and safe and assist
volunteers to successfully manage and develop their clubs. Our sport and recreation team also
provide programs for people of all ages to be physically active and healthy.

expand the services we offer and the communities in which we work – supporting more people
to make real connections in their community creating a real impact in their lives.
To achieve this TED25 will Transform our capability, Excite our customers and Deliver greater
impact! To achieve our strategic outcomes we have created a new position that will support
Leisure Networks achieve its Strategic Plan – T.E.D. 2025. This strategy has a focus on impact and
growth with initiatives that impact our people.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this newly created position will be a hands on role that
will be responsible for the day to day people (HR) operations including recruitment, onboarding,
compliance, policy reviews and updates, performance development, performance
management and workforce management ensuring an awesome employee experience. The
management, support and development of a small, highly skilled and capable People & Culture
team that is responsible for the people operations at Leisure Networks is an integral part of this
position.
This position will also be responsible for the management and coordination of Leisure Networks
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System to ensure that Leisure Networks
meets its statutory obligations and achieves its strategic priorities for a safe and healthy workplace.
This will be achieved via the development of a comprehensive OHS Management System and

the implementation of an effective risk management system for the prevention of injuries and the
control of risks. The position will provide expert OHS advice and guidance to the entire Leisure
Networks team in order to achieve a safe and healthy workplace.
This role partners with a supportive People Leader Team to proactively promote a culture of safety
and wellbeing for all our people, while driving the health, safety and wellbeing strategy for the
whole organisation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES People Operations
Lead, develop and support the People & Culture Team in the delivery of best practice
people and culture (HR) practices, systems and processes appropriate to LN.
Oversee operational HR to ensure compliance and minimise risk in line with current
workplace laws and relevant industrial instruments.
Promote and monitor compliance with workplace laws.
Support the Recruitment Coordinator with all recruitment related activities including
onboarding, as required
Oversee pre-employment safety screening (compliance) in line with NDIS Quality &
Safeguards.
Policy reviews and updates as required.
Supporting People Leaders in effective and best practice approach to performance.
Responsible for day to day workforce management including award interpretation and
advice.
Support staff engagement initiatives and extend the impact of the Culture Amp platform
to support and track the engagement and development of our people leaders and staff.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Establish an appropriate system that will ensure LN delivers on its health, safety and
wellbeing commitments and initiatives, in line with our Strategic Plan.
Support our people to manage health and safety risks, protocols and safe-work
procedures to ensure a safe workplace for all our people.
Proactively promote a culture of safety and wellbeing that supports the risk
management policies and frameworks.
Advise and guide on best practice, legislative and organisational health and safety
protocols that are relevant to our industry and align with/support NDIS Quality and
Safeguards.
Develop, monitor and update OHS Policies and Procedures as required.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team and People Leaders to drive the strategic health
and safety direction.
Coordinate the delivery of health, safety and wellbeing plans for all LN sites and
operations including site evacuation plans, fire wardens, first aiders, etc.
Coordinate and implement health and safety initiatives, strategies and programs in
collaboration with the P&C Team, People Leaders and Leadership Team.

Undertake auditing and inspections of relevant systems ascertaining compliance with
legislation and approved policy/guidelines.
Responsible for preventative health and wellbeing strategies, particularly mental health.
Deliver training and education that aligns with LN’s strategies for improving health and
safety performance and cultures including orientation of new team members.
Conduct investigations of workplace health and safety incidents and facilitate the
preparation of management reports on these issues.
Support Health and Safety Representatives and participate in the WH&S Committee
including monthly meeting scheduling, drafting agenda, taking minutes, reporting, etc.
Administer and maintain the process of data collection relating to WH&S.
Work collaboratively with all service delivery teams to build internal capability and
improve the quality and level of services being provided that ensures the safety of our
people.
Return to Work/Injury Management/WorkCover
Responsible for all WorkCover, Injury Management and Return to Work matters.
Provide a professional and supportive contact for any injured team members and the
insurer.
Develop and monitor appropriative return to work programs as required.
Risk Management
Ensure LN has a comprehensive, integrated and systematic approach to managing risks
relating to workplace health, safety and wellbeing.
Ensure effective risk management practices are embedded in planning and decision-
making processes.
Ensure the organisations’ compliance against the Department of Health & Human Services
Scheme Standards (HSS) and the National Disability Insuarance Scheme (NDIS) Quality and
Safeguards (Governance Standards); as a condition of the registration requirements of the
Disability Act 2006.
Develop and implement risk management analysis and reporting.
In collaboration with LN’s Quality Coordinator, develop and maintain policies relating to
risk management (and OH&S) that is in line with government and agency (NDIA) risk
management policies and frameworks (eg. NDIS Quality and Safeguards Practice
Standards).
Oversight of LN’s operational Risk Register – inform, identify, update as required.
Prepare risk reports for the CEO and Leadership Team as required.

“YOU HAVE!” KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Key Selection Criteria
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a generalist HR role including strong understanding of relevant
industrial instruments and workplace laws.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in OHS legislation, regulations and standards
(minimum 2 years).
Sound working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, regulations,
Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards.
Return to Work Coordinator Training (WorkSafe accredited).
Demonstrated change management capabilities and proven ability to lead safety culture
improvements.
OHSMS implementation experience.
Practical experience in risk management including risk mitigation strategies and injury
prevention strategies.
Computer literate, developing and maintaining data reporting systems to measure
organization OHSMS compliance and HR reporting.
Previous disability industry experience (preferable).
