TECC - Tactical Emergency Casualty Care
Instructor Workshop
February 21-24, 2017 Panama City, Florida
This is a 4 day instructor workshop for the NAEMT Tactical Emergency Casualty Care course. The first 2
days are the 16 hour TECC Course and instructor workshop. The 3rd and 4th day instructor candidates
will teach the TECC course. The TECC course covers topics designed to decrease preventable death in
the tactical situation or similar scenario such as active shooter. The course is not just for tactical
medics or tactical medical providers. It is for every street medic that may respond to active shooter,
terrorist events, or a variety of similar events right out of the daily headlines.
Students will develop situational awareness skills, learn to manage hemorrhage control, perform
surgical airway control and needle decompression, learn strategies for treating wounded responders
in threatening environments, and techniques for dragging and carrying victims to safety.
TECC focuses on the medicine during three distinct phases of care and provides guidelines for managing trauma in the civilian tactical or hazardous environment. You will train with TOMM, the Tactical Operations Medical Mannequin as used currently by US Special Operation Forces.
