TAG Philippines

PhilCeCNet has been implementing this project since 2011

More than 300 high school girls have been identified and trained under the 1st phase, with help from our Community eCenters (CeCs) in Luzon, Visayas & Mindanao

30 of the best high school girls are selected to come to Manila for the First Tech Age Girls Bootcamp (Jan. 20-30, 2013)

The girls will develop community projects and work with their respective CeCs to implement them in their communities

Girls will serve as role models and will train other members in their communities in ICTs

Next Steps

PhilCeCNet to adopt TAG as one of its key programs for the next 4 years

TAG to be one of the programs under PhilCeCNet’s “iPinay Movement”, which will empower women and girls as driving forces of ICT-enabled development

This initiative will actively promote and support increased participation of women and girls in the ICT field.

We plan to hold annual TAG Bootcamps during the summer and semestral breaks

We plan to involve more CeCs and schools in identifying, training and assisting girls in their community projects
