Abstract: In India the three – language – formula was implemented a decade ago to bring the national integration and International Communication effectively. In the state of Tamil Nadu the regional language and mother tongue is Tamil. Tamil is one of the traditional languages, which is the root for other Dravidian languages such as Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tulu. The Tamil language has its own traditional, cultural, political and social effects. Because of three language teaching system, Tamil language teaching has lost its originality. Most of them are moved to English medium schools and the younger generation children do not know properly their own mother tongue Tamil. They have spoken Tamil slangs but they have not known properly the Tamil Grammatical Structure for their writing, reading, listening and even speaking.

V. CORPUS IN LANGUAGE LEARNING

•Language teaching course books based on corpus usually refer to more common and frequent examples over rare ones to be more accurate in description and effective in teaching. Even in traditional manner, corpus is useful for providing information regarding use of lexical collocation in understanding patterns of word use (Gavioli 2004).

J. POTENTIAL UTILISATION OF CORPUS

•Language specialists (interested in the language of the texts)

•Content specialists (interested in the content of the texts), and

•Media specialists (interested in corpus as test bed for electronic devices).

The Future need is to collect the Corpora for each standard

Tamil Language text books and make a Morphological

Analyzer is must for the effective Tamil learning

and teaching through the computer in the class room environment.
