We have met thoserequests by introducing the M-GRO-CAL-SET calibration curve.This curve is manufactured withoutincorporating an internal standardand is packaged in RReeaaddyy--ttoo--UUssee10 mL sample volume.

The certified oxygenate calibrationcurve can be used in combinationwith other aromatic standards forcombined oxygenate/aromaticanalysis, to change the amount ofinternal standard added, or toincorporate alternative internalstandard analytes.

Technical NoteAccuStandard’s M-GROoxygenate calibration curve hasbeen successfully used byPetroleum Refineries andsupporting laboratories for bothASTM Method D-5599 andASTM Method D-4815. Incorporating the Toluene-d8 as the internal standard for thequantification of gasolines with higher Toluene levels has improved analytical results for this analyte. IInnccoorrppoorraattiioonn ooff aa 66tthh CCaalliibbrraattiioonn SSttaannddaarrddAA 66tthh ccaalliibbrraattiioonn ssttaannddaarrdd has been formulated for the M-GRA product line to improve the linearity at thehigh end of the calibration curve see page 44. This sixth standard can be especially important in thequantification of gasoline samples containing high toluene levels. The formulation contains an analyteconcentration between the high level standard and the next level, which is standard two. Use of the sixthstandard provides an additional calibration point that is desirable when the calibration curve is developedusing a quadratic fit.

Many of these changes were evaluated and/or adopted due to the results generated from the 1997 Round Robin, which used a select group of 21gasolines ampulized by AccuStandard.
