Our History:

Technical Drilling and Blasting Co LLC (TDB) is an UAE based company registered under the Commercial

License Number 504846 and was formed in 1997. TDB is a subsidiary company of Al Fajar Al Alamia Co

SAOG, Sultanate of Oman.

We are an ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 company accredited by SN Registrars

and certified under UKAS.

TDB has its head office in Dubai as well as offices in other emirates such as Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ras-Al-

Khaimah, Sharjah and Ajman

Our operations are supported by a very efficient office co-ordination to effectively handle explosives, Drilling and blasting and Surveying operations.

As a specialized end user in the field of explosives, we have made sizeable contribution to the construction industry. This was mainly for the construction of Roads, Tunnels and infrastructure related projects which are now contributing greatly to the UAE’s economy.

During the twenty-two years of existence we’ve grown to serve more, we’ve been pioneer in providing

the same level of quality services in Drilling, Blasting and Surveying in Mines, Quarries, Roads and Tunnel

projects wherever we operate. We have achieved and maintained a very high degree of recognition.

THE FLEET WE WORK WITH

We maintain an extensive large fleet of Heavy Duty Hydraulic Top Hammer and Down the Hole hammer

DTH Drill Units for all our drilling activities, supported by our Mechanical Workshop which helps us to

maintain all our drill fleet and other machines in top condition which include

At present we have a total of twenty-five (25) drill rigs located in quarries and infrastructure project sites within the UAE and they drill around 1.5 million drill meters per annum yielding approximately 18 million cubic meters (50 Million Tons) of blasted rock annually. CLIENTS & PROJECTS

SOME OF TDB’S PRESTIGIOUS PROJECTS ARE:

1) Fujairah Bulk Shipping LLC (FBS)

FBS’s Northern Land Reclamation Project was successfully completed, much before scheduled

completion time, by TDB being principle drilling and blasting contractor. The project created new land

mass measuring 4.8 Km in length and 500 m in width along the coastline, near the Port of Fujairah,

which involved the movement of approximately 54 million tons of rock and in turn remove a large

mountain adjacent to the project by means of drilling and blasting and large scale quarrying operation.

The completed landmass will be used for the processing and exporting of oil delivered from Abu Dhabi

via new pipeline. The land will house a refinery as well as storage tanks that will increase Fujairah’s oil

storage capacity.

The blasting operations were planned a month in advance and were carried out. Eight drill rigs worked

24 hour a day, seven days a week, to achieve enough material to fulfill the needs of the reclamation site.

Up to 15 tons of explosives were used each day to blast up to 130,000 tons of rock.

2) Archirodon Construction (Overseas) Co. S. A.

TDB was associated with Archirodon for drilling and blasting works at their Ras-Al-Khaimah Quarry

operations. The monthly production of the quarry was 800,000 tons of which 200,000 tons were rocks

over 100 kg and the remaining 600,000 tons consisted of various stones and quarry run.

3) Western Geco International

We were associated with Western Geco for Seismic Survey works in Abu Dhabi Emirate. TDB assisted

them with

· Licensed Blasting Engineer

· Management of explosive stores

· Training of Western Geco personnel for seismic blasting works

4) KEC International Ltd.

We were associated with KEC International for erection of towers for High Tension Transmission lines.

TDB successfully assisted KEC for

· Drilling & blasting for access roads to the pylons.

· Drilling & blasting for excavation of foundation for pylons.

· Drilling of holes, at critical location, as per specification to facilitate anchoring of towers.

5) Sharm– Al Aqah Tunnel Project (BATCO)

We are the sub-contractor for the blasting operations for the ongoing BATCO tunnel project which is a

twin tube tunnel project between Al Aqah and Sharm in the Emirate of Fujairah. This tunnel is a part of

the Dibba to Khorfakkan ring road.

6) Nijemat- Ground Levelling with Controlled Blasting

We are the subcontractor for the controlled blasting operations for the ongoing Al Nijemat Ground

Levelling project which is 60% completed. The project area is surrounded by major roads leading to

Fujairah, shopping centers, police station and Government offices. Due to the sensitive nature of this

project, controlled blasting techniques based on the careful application of explosive energy has led to an

extremely safe blasting operation. We have continuously complied with the vibration/sound limits

provided by the legal authorities by reducing the Maximum Instantaneous Charge (MIC). It is notable

that such level of safety is achieved by using pyrotechnic detonators which considerably minimized the

overall cost of the project. The explosive-rock interaction for the project has been studied continuously

and the findings are used to improve performance of the future blasts.
