Dear Colleagues, Started in Beijing, China, in 1987, the International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS) has been run for 19 times. The 20th ICEMS or ICEMS2017 will be run in Sydney, Australia, on 11-14 August 2017. This event will be the 30th anniversary of ICEMS. As a regular annual event, ICEMS is sponsored by the China Electrotechnical Society (CES), Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE), and Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan Industry Applications Society (IEEJ-IAS), along with the technical co-sponsorship from the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IEEE-IAS). ICEMS2017 is also proudly sponsored by the office of the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer, Australia. This conference aims to provide a forum for researchers, scientists, and engineers to present their latest R&D achievements and to exchange useful information and experiences in the field of electrical machines and systems, including electrical machines of all types and all aspects (such as new structures, materials, and analysis and design methods), power electronic converters, motion control, electrical drive, and application systems, as well as other relevant areas. As one of the largest cities in the southern hemisphere, Sydney has a great deal to offer to its visitors. Besides the natural beauties and famous constructions, such as the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, Sydney features a unique blend of multiple cultures. In Sydney, you can find people from almost anywhere in the world, and you can enjoy different cuisine styles, such as Chinese, French, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Thai. The conference venue is the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney located in the beautiful and exciting Darling Harbour, in the heart of Sydney and the most popular destination for international visitors and locals alike. It is next to the central business district and has many exciting attractions and events everyday.
