Connection interface surfaces are provided for the outlet ductwork to the customer ductwork to enable fitment using established industry practices.

FANSThe fans are a multi blade, centrifugal type with backward curved blades and single inlet. They have black coated rotors and aluminium impellers and are individually statically and dynamically balanced. The fans are directly mounted to the electric motors. The electric motors are high efficiency, electronically commutated and speed controlled to optimise efficiency particularly at low speeds.

HEAT EXCHANGE CORESThe heat exchange cores are designed to facilitate heat exchange between the wet and dry air passages such that high efficiency heat transfer takes place without the addition of any moisture. They are designed to provide long life and long term high efficiency. The CW-80S Supercool is also fitted with Chillcel® fabricated, honeycomb cooling pads.

RESERVOIRThe reservoir is constructed from polymer to ensure durability and corrosion resistance. The reservoir is designed to house the water pump(s) and accommodate the level control, chlorinator system and salinity monitoring water management system. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OVERVIEW

ILL2345-A

WATER CONNECTION1/2” BSPT Male thread (compatible with 1/2” NPT) connection on cooler. Water Supply Temperature: Max. 40°C

In areas subject to freezing, the water line needs a drain down facility. If the water pressure exceeds the maximum specification then a pressure reducing valve is required and must be supplied and fitted by the installer.

DRAIN CONNECTIONA built-in Drain Valve is controlled by the Water Management System. Drain water and tank overflow water must be carried away to a suitable discharge point in accordance with local regulations. The drain outlet provided will accept an NPS 2 inch (DN50) PVC pipe. Direct water into an open drain.

BACnet is currently offered as an option on all CW-80 Series coolers. The popular protocols BACnet/IP and BACnet MS/TP can be provided as well as BACnet Ethernet.Communication items (referred to as “objects”) form the key to the BACnet system. Seeley International have developed a full set of 108 objects for the CW-80 Series range of coolers. This set of objects (referred to as an “objects list”) is detailed in the cooler Installation and Operation Manual “BACnet Object List CW-80 Series” and is available to assist customers in design-ing their building management control systems. This objects list can be divided into two groups - 17 objects that can be both read and modified by the customer and the balance of 91 objects that can be read only. The first group of 17 modifiable objects are associated with controlling and operating the CW-80 Series cooler as summa-rized in the following table: -

Item Objects Detailsbasic control 6 control of BACnet active, run,

cool, direct cool (supercool only), fan speed, water tank drain

master error reset 2 ability to reset errors

clock 8 provision for adjusting clock - daylight saving

BACnet integrity 1 used to confirm BACnet signal integrity (selectable feature)

The second group of 91 read only objects are associated with the status of the CW-80 Series cooler as summarized in the following table: -

Item Objects Detailsbasic 19 software number, version and

date, control mode, current operating status, watering sequence control, commission-ing mode

BMS 7 status of standard hard wired BMS signals

air temperatures and humdity

8 air temperatures in both deg C and deg F for ambient, inter-mediate (supercool only) and supply airhumidity in RH% for ambient and supply air

pressures 4 differential pressure across the supply and exhaust parts of the core in both Pa and inches of water

fans 10 supply and exhaust fan speeds, enable signals, normal signals

tank 9 status of tank water level sensors, inlet solenoid, drain valve, chlorinator enable and adequate voltage output, aver-age tank refill time, drain delay elapsed period

watering system 2 operating status of indirect pump and direct (supercool only) pump

Item Objects Detailssalinity 2 status of high salinity signal

and timed drain in progress

hours 6 accumulated running time in hours for overall cooler, supply fans, exhaust fans, indirect pump, direct pump (supercool only), chlorinator

errors 24 water supply poor or inad-equate at various stages of the tank fill or refill, indirect pump overload, direct pump (supercool only) overload, supply fan errors, exhaust fan errors, chlorinator warning and critical errors, high inlet air filter differential pressure error, low exhaust pressure error, unit operating in forced vent mode or has shut down due to combination of errors

With the BACnet option installed, the standard BMS interface is still available should this be required. In this scenario the customer would control the cooler using the standard BMS interface but at the same time utilise the BACnet system only to monitor the detailed status of the cooler. A specific BACnet object is provided so that the customer can freely select either this style of control or normal full BACnet control.

BACnet field wiring is simple as only a single pair of shielded wires is required to be connected to two terminals. Further, in multiple cooler installations this wiring can be looped from one cooler to the next up to a maximum of 127 coolers whilst still maintaining individual control and status monitoring.
