Setting up of Device

Connect the DAP-1360 to the network. Open a web browser, go to URL http://dlinkap/. It will open the device web configuration interface. Login with username ‘admin’ and leave the password blank as default.You can also connect it directly to the PC using a LAN cable.

Give a static IP to the PC of 192.168.0.51 and access the DAP-1360 at http://192.168.0.50/

DAP-1360 is defaulted at this Static IP. (No DHCP)

Setting up of Device

Go to ‘Setup’ tab, ‘Wireless Setup’ sub-tab. Choose Wireless mode as ‘Access Point’. Enter the user’s choice of a wireless network name (SSID).

Note:• Set “802.11 Mode” to

Mixed b/g/n for better compatibility.

• Enable “Auto Channel Scan” unless encounter wireless interference.

• Set “Channel Width” to 20/40MHz to enjoy 300Mbps wireless speed. (Wireless N mode)

Select a security mode for the wireless network and enter a password of user’s choice.

Note:• Switch to WEP mode if

there is compatibility issue with existing b/g client. (Wireless speed will drop to 54Mbps)

• Using TKIP as Cipher type will also decrease wireless speed to 54Mbps.

Go to ‘Setup’ tab, ‘Wireless Setup’ sub-tab. Choose Wireless mode as ‘Repeater’. Enter the main router’s wireless parameters manually or click on ‘Site Survey’ button to scan the surrounding area.

Check the radio button on the ‘Select’ column and click ‘Connect’ at the bottom of the page.

Basic parameters such as SSID, Wireless Mode, 802.11 mode, Channel Width, Security Mode and Cipher Types will be copied from the main router.

User will have to input the wireless password manually for the main router for the DAP-1360 to connect to the main router.

Go to ‘Setup’ tab, ‘Wireless Setup’ sub-tab. Choose Wireless mode as ‘Bridge’. Wireless parameters will have to be entered manually (Channel, 802.11n Mode, Channel Width, Transmission rate)

Enter the MAC of the remote AP (Another DAP-1360) and the security mode and password between the devices.

Go to ‘Setup’ tab, ‘Wireless Setup’ sub-tab. Choose Wireless mode as ‘Wireless Client’.

User can enter the SSID manually or do a site survey to scan the surrounding area for the main router to connect. Enter the wireless security parameters of the main router that the DAP-1360 will be connecting to.

If you disable MAC clone, the DAP-1360 will fill the source MAC address field of all packets that it forwards with its own MAC address. If you enable this option, manually type in a different source MAC address for the DAP-1360 to use in all packets that it forwards.

Setting up of Device

Go to ‘Advanced’ tab, ‘Access Control’ sub-tab. Use MAC Filters to allow or deny wireless clients, by their MAC addresses, from accessing the DAP-1360. You can manually add a MAC address or select the MAC address from the list of clients that are currently connected to the AP (Connected PCs). The default setting is Disable MAC Filters.

Go to ‘Advanced’ tab, ‘User Limit’ sub-tab. The D-Link DAP-1360 can set a limit upon the number of wireless clients. Using user limit, you can prevent scenarios where the DAP-1360 in your network shows performance degradation because it is handling heavy wireless traffic.

Go to ‘Maintenance’ tab, ‘Schedules’ sub-tab. Schedules can be created for use with enforcing rules. For example, if you want to restrict web access to Mon-Fri from 3pm to 8pm, you could create a schedule selecting Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri and enter a Start Time of 3pm and End Time of 8pm.
