Removal of background from the image

Once I had taken the image for my magazine’s front cover, I needed to remove the images background. This is needed as the plain background is a point of convention and matches with the magazines colour scheme. As I knew the background would need removing, I took the image with a green wall behind it.To remove the background, I used Adobe Photoshop and the Magnetic Lasso tool. This allowed me to go around the image

After having, used this to remove the background of the image, I had to add the image to the front cover that I had developed. Therefore I dragged the image to the layer that was behind the masthead and the coverlines as this was a point of convention that I identified within the research into the magazine formats.

This enabled a final front cover design that was conventionally, professional and stylish. I followed the same process within the image for the double page spread.

An additionally area where I used technology was in order to adjust the brightness of the image. This was achieved through the use of either a mac or a laptop. I order to do this I opened the filters option on Adobe Fireworks and chose the brightness option.

This improved the image quality and made it easier to view. Additionally it made the image look more conventional and professional.
