Technology Integration Roles
Roles of the principal
• Principal is informed of goals and strategies set by the Board by District Technology Coordinators. These goals are then expected to be relayed to the teachers by the Instructional Technology Specialist on each campus. The principal is to support the ITS in allowing trainings to be conducted and a budget allotted to the ITS to support district goals. Principal and ITS will look at data from the AEIS and STaR charts to plan and implement trainings throughout the year on campus. SBDM committee will assist the principal and ITS in making goals for the teachers.
• Perform monthly check-in with ITS to see how planning and trainings are going.
• Checking evidence of daily integration through walk-throughs and PDAS evaluations.
• Tech Fusion submissions can also be checked to make sure every teacher submits at least one per semester.
• Provide increased collaboration time for teachers with ITSs and librarians to explore ways to infuse technology into the existing curriculum. (Strategy 9 of Goal 4/Obj. 1 of the Irving ISD District Improvement Plan)
• Make sure teachers use the StaR Chart and/or LoTI performance results to develop a technology-related professional goal for which they seek training. (Strategy 2 of Goal 4/Obj. 2 of our DIP)
