Professional Salaries

Director – Federal and State Programs – will directly manage compliance for

Title I part A and D, including schoolwide reading and mathematics programs,

school choice, non-public, Homeless, Neglected and Delinquent, and Parent

Involvement services.

Assistant Superintendent, Supervisors, and Director – District administrators

who have responsibilities directly related to the Title I Program are funded in

these lines (refer to Administrative Forms for specific job descriptions).

Social Worker – Homeless – As part of the required match for this District’s

Homeless grant, this Social Worker will facilitate the activities of the Homeless

program.

Reading Teachers – will provide supplemental reading and ELA instruction and

AIS in Title I schools.

Math Teachers – will provide supplemental math instruction and AIS in Title I

schools.

Instructional Coaches – will provide building-level side-by-side professional

development support in scientific research-based effective instruction in Title I

schools. 37.0 FTE are allocated to elementary schools as part of a district

initiative, and 14.17 were chosen by schools from their school allocations.

Guidance Counselors – will provide supplemental guidance services to students

in Title I schools.

Pre-K Teachers – will provide direct instruction in Pre-K classrooms to build the

foundational skills needed for learning reading and math.

Elementary Teachers Non-Public – Non-public schools utilize their funds to

employ reading and/or math teachers to provide supplemental instruction to their

students.

Technology Integration Specialists – provide training to teachers on integrating

technology into the curriculum and train teachers to disaggregate the data to

improve instruction for students.

Teacher Assistants – provide classroom support in BPS Title I schools under the

direction of certified and highly qualified teachers.

Transition Guidance Counselor N&D – provides transition services to at-risk

students at the Neglected and Delinquent sites, including Connors Morey (0.065

of FTE).

Hourly Teachers – Neglected and Delinquent – paid at the contractually agreed

upon rate to provide transition services or teach academic subjects at the sites for

students receiving Neglected and Delinquent services.

Administrator OT – as part of program monitoring and district-level Parent

Involvement activity that includes work with the District Parent Coordinating

Council, administrators are paid at contractual rates to work outside of regular

district hours.

Discussion Leader Hourly – Parent Involvement - teachers and administrators

are paid at contractual rates to lead Parent Involvement professional

development activities outside of regular district hours.

Administrator/Teacher Ancillary – Expanded Learning Time - teachers and

administrators are paid at contractual rates to instruct and supervise school-based

Expanded Learning Time activities (School Improvement Set-Aside).

Support Staff Salaries

Community Education Leaders (Central Office and Parent Center) – work with

community agencies and schools in facilitating non-public school, Neglected

and Delinquent, and Expanded Learning Time programs for parents and

students.

Community Education Leader (Homeless) – work with community agencies and

schools in facilitating the Homeless program for parents and students.

Grant Coordinator –works with the Title I grant manger to ensure the monitoring

of the expenditures and programming.

Research Aide (Homeless) – works directly with the Supervisor of Homeless

Education to provide timely and accurate services related to identification and

needs of homeless families.

Research Aide (Expanded Learning Time) – works directly with the Supervisor

of ELT and Extended School Year to provide timely and accurate services

related to the ELT program.

Clerical Staff (Central Office and Buffalo Professional Development and

Technology Center) – provides appropriate support for all aspects of the Title I

Program – typing, filing, answering telephones, etc.

Purchased Services

Contract Services - Non-Public Reading and Math – Funds will be used to hire

independent contract teachers to provide instruction in reading and/or math. In

addition, contracts will be established with districts outside of the City of

Buffalo and through third party providers to distribute Title I funds. The funds

will be utilized for the instruction of targeted Buffalo students.

Contract Services - Non-Public Professional Development – Funds will be used

to hire consultants to provide professional development to non-public teachers in

reading and math instruction.

Non-Employee Expense - Non-Public (PD) – Funds will be designated to pay

non-public teachers to attend professional development in reading and/or math

instruction.

Contract Services - Non-Public Parent Involvement – Funds will be used to

support the cost of Parent Involvement in non-public schools, again including

districts outside of the City of Buffalo and through third party providers.

Contract Services – Parent Involvement Building Level Activity – Public

schools may contract with vendors to provide Parent Involvement services.

Meeting Expenses – Parent Involvement and Engagement – Funds will provide

nutrition at Parent Involvement activities on the building and district levels, and

Parent Engagement events and trainings at Priority and Focus Schools.

Contract Services – Videography – Funds will provide video recording of

district-level Parent Involvement meetings.

Postage – Central Office, School Choice, Parent Involvement, N&D – Funds

will support the cost of informational mailings to teachers and parents regarding

Title I issues including School Choice, building-level Parent Involvement

activities, and Neglected and Delinquent transition programming; and of report

mailings to the State Education Department.

Printing – Funds will support Title I related printing, duplicating, and advertising

costs.

Rental Equipment – Funds will support the lease of Xerox copiers at various

Title I locations.

Rental of Facilities – Funds will supplement the lease of space at the Buffalo

Professional Development and Technology Center.

Non Employee Stipends – Parent Facilitators – Parent Facilitators will work at

all Title I Schools, helping to maintain building level Parent Involvement and

Engagement.

Contract Services – Academic Services – School #206 will use part of its Title I

allocation to fund academic service support for students at school, home, and

worksite.

Lease Payment – As part of the District Parent Engagement program, funds will

be used to support a Literacy Zone for Priority and Focus Schools at the Parent

Center.

Dues – All Priority and Focus Schools will become members of the National

Network of Partnership Schools and participate in related Parent Engagement

activities.

Supplies and Materials

Instructional Supplies Non-Public/Public Schools/Parent Involvement/Parent

Engagement – Funds will be used to purchase supplemental instructional

materials to support Title I school programs in public and non-public schools.

Office Supplies – Funds will support the administration of general Title I, Title I

Parent Involvement/Engagement, and Title I non-public school services.

Subscriptions – Subscriptions to the Compliance Insider, the Title I Handbook,

parent magazines, early childhood magazines, etc. will be purchased.

Laptop Computer N&D – A laptop computer will be used to support Title I, Part

D transition programming at the Erie County Holding Center and Youth

Detention Center.

Mileage – N&D – Funds will support the Transition Guidance Counselor’s in-

district travel to Neglected and Delinquent sites.

Non-Public Transportation – After School Tutoring – Funds will ensure that

students who choose to attend an afterschool program for additional instruction

in reading and/or math to increase their academic achievement will have bus

transportation available.

Employee and Non-Employee Travel – Administrators and parents will attend

conferences in an effort to develop Parent Engagement skills and competencies

that can help meet Priority and Focus schools’ Parent Engagement needs.
