19Principles: EAC-IRC
Every human being has been created, and is cared for and loved by God. Human life therefore enjoys sanctity.
The indiscriminate and hateful destruction of life is evil. The religious justification of indiscriminate violence is
based on a misrepresentation of Scriptures. We are all part of the human family and therefore share
the same obligations to the welfare of society. God is peace, and as God's servants we must not only
approve peace or preach peace, but work for peace. We need to move beyond religious tolerance to a
position of mutual respect. Dialogue - the effort to truly understand the other - is a
moral obligation.

20Principles: EAC-IRC
We have a divine mandate to strive for equity and justice in society, including in the
political and economic spheres of society. People have the right and duty to lawfully and
industriously earn a living. Faith communities have the mandate to speak
truth to those in power; and to seek unity within the faith community when doing so. Religious community have shared obligation of
serving humanity and promoting human dignity.
