GBLM benefits:

• Separates surface from

subsurface and use advanced

tribological models for surface

reliability modelling

• Provides unique representation

to specific surface features and

quality

• For the first time, gives indication

of the risk area of the bearing

with the SR parameter

Conclusions

2 November, 2015 Slide 7

• The GBLM is built on the strength of the current Modified Rating

bearing model of SKF and ISO 281 but adds more flexibility and new

knowledge.

• GBLM allows the user to clearly separate surface from subsurface

risks and failure modes.

• GBLM introduces “performance factors” that can reflect special

design features of SKF bearings and can target specific region of the

operating conditions

• GBLM surface tribology model allows SKF together with our

INSIGHT bearing sensor technology to manage active the machine

health and to extend the real life
